  • Publication number: 20240060998
Abstract: A method for determining a patient's likelihood of experiencing a thromboembolic event when receiving an implantable blood contacting medical device. The method includes extracting a sample of blood from the patient. The sample of blood is exposed to a metal, metal alloy, or ceramic in a test tube. The sample of the blood is agitated in the test tube. A thromboembolic marker for the sample in the test tube is measured. If the thromboembolic marker for the sample in the test tube is higher than a predetermined thromboembolic marker threshold, it is determined that the patient is likely to experience the thromboembolic event when receiving the blood contacting implantable medical device.

  • Patent number: 11813449
Abstract: A system and method of implanting pacing lead in a patient's heart. The system may include a catheter configured to by inserted through the coronary sinus ostium such that the distal end region of the catheter is positioned past the anterolateral vein and proximate at least one septal perforating vein. The catheter is configured to inject contrast proximate the septal perforating vein to identify an implant region for a pacing lead. Further, a controller is configured to deliver pacing therapy to the implant region.

  • Patent number: 11724028
Abstract: The disclosure describes systems and techniques for detection of pump thrombosis in mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices. An example pump thrombosis detection system includes a transducer and processing circuitry. The transducer may be configured to generate a signal representative of a mechanical wave from a mechanical circulatory support device. The processing circuitry is communicatively coupled to the transducer. The processing circuitry may be configured to determine an indication of pump thrombosis based on the signal and, based on the indication of pump thrombosis, control the pump thrombosis detection system to at least one of generate an alert or initiate an intervention.
