    Abstract: Multiple Subscription Service (MSS) expands the functional operational area of a wireless phone that is initially limited for use within one Short Distance Calling Area (SDCA) under one subscription agreement. MSS supports multiple wireless subscriptions for a single handset, thereby allowing the handset to function in multiple SDCAs. In addition, MSS allows for the automatic self-subscription of the handset in an unsubscribed area. MSS therefore enables roaming like service for wireless phones that are initially limited for use within a particular subscription area.
