Abstract: A method for performing a task in a touchscreen device, comprising receiving tactile information from a digit, wherein the tactile information comprises an identifying portion and a touchscreen location of the digit, identifying the digit based on the tactile information, obtaining contextual information from the touchscreen device, wherein the contextual information comprises data describing an execution environment of the touchscreen device, translating, using a controller, a mapping of the tactile information and the contextual information to obtain a task, and performing the task in the touchscreen device, wherein the task performs an action in the execution environment of the touchscreen device.

Abstract: A system and method for providing scroll bar enabled bookmarks in electronic document displays whereby a bookmark enabled scroll bar is provided as a feature associated with a displayed electronic document. The bookmark enabled scroll bar includes one or more bookmark sequencing buttons. When a user desires to mark a portion of an electronic document for future reference, the user activates the bookmark enabled scroll bar and places/creates a bookmark/breakpoint at a location in the bookmark enabled scroll bar corresponding the portion of the electronic document the user wishes to bookmark for future reference. Once the user activates the bookmark enabled scroll bar and creates the bookmark, a visual indicator appears in the bookmark enabled scroll bar at the selected location corresponding to the portion of the electronic document the user wishes to bookmark for future reference.

Abstract: A method for displaying information about a document in a graphical user interface, that includes receiving an event of a pointer on a trough, identifying a position of the pointer in the trough corresponding to the event, wherein a puck on the trough is in a different position than the position of the pointer, obtaining the location in the document corresponding to the position of the pointer, and displaying a location tip specifying the location in the document.

Abstract: A method for inputting optional values into an input field that includes receiving an event to trigger input into the input field, identifying a first optional value and a second optional value associated with the input field, and dynamically assigning, in response to the event, a first unique hotkey to the first optional value and a second unique hotkey to the second optional value. The method may also include displaying the first optional value with the first unique hotkey and the second optional value with the second unique hotkey, receiving input of the first unique hotkey, and populating the input field with the first optional value based on the input of the first unique hotkey.
