  • Patent number: 11968230
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for managing communication privacy in a conversation system are provided. The method detects an utterance on a public channel by a user of a computing device. A privacy nature of the utterance is determined. Based on the privacy nature, a classification confidence is determined for the utterance. The method generates a privacy question to be presented to the user based on the privacy nature and the classification confidence. In response to a confirmation response, a privacy channel is established. The method switches from the public channel to the privacy channel.

  • Patent number: 11948373
Abstract: Automatic license plate recognition occurs when a light sensor that continually captures video detects motion as a vehicle is driven through a gate. The light sensor detects the vehicle and license plate in the video stream captured by the light sensor. An algorithm associated with the video stream of the light sensor is trained to detect license plates. The light sensor starts executing the recognition algorithm when it detects motion. Recognition of characters in the license plate is based upon an aggregation of several captured video frames in which a license plate is detected.

  • Publication number: 20180108025
Abstract: A method for obtaining sentiment in electronic media postings includes a media stream parser unit monitoring electronic media postings present on an electronic communication network, displaying a selected electronic media posting on a display device of a client computing device, receiving an indication from a pointing device connected to the client computing device of an entity identifier within content of the selected electronic media posting, analyzing the content of the electronic media posting to identify a sentiment expression in the content, a sentiment analysis unit applying ranking rules to determine a sentiment ranking for the sentiment expression, and providing the sentiment ranking to the display device upon receiving the indication. A system to implement the method and a non-transitory computer-readable medium are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20080040713
Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides a system and method for remotely upgrading the firmware of a target device using wireless technology from the Bluetooth-enabled PC or Laptop to another Bluetooth device e.g., mouse, Keyboard, headset, mobile phone etc. Existing solutions either may not have upgrade capabilities, or may require the use of proprietary cables. An embodiment of the solution proposed here extends the “Connecting without cables” concept of Bluetooth to firmware upgrades. The system comprises a host device for sending the firmware required for upgradation; and a target device containing a first code and a second code wherein said first code identifies details of the firmware; and said second code identifies the completion of the download operation when the firmware is successfully downloaded.

  • Patent number: 6356126
Abstract: Intermittent miscounts generated by counters used in a phase-locked loop (“PLL”) are precisely measured by detecting changes to a predetermined waveform, such as a sawtooth waveform. The miscounts are detected using an open loop, not closed loop, set-up which comprises two separate signal generators feeding two separate frequencies into MAIN and REF counters of a PLL. Offsetting the frequencies slightly and integrating an output generates the predetermined waveform. Thereafter, miscounts can be detected by comparing waveforms corresponding to miscounts to theoretically predicted, predetermined waveforms.
