  • Patent number: 8704098
Abstract: First and second grommets are each positioned in contact with vehicle body panel surfaces through which a wire harness through-hole has been bored. The first and second grommets are each integrally formed from rubber or an elastomer with a small diameter tubular portion, to which a wire harness is adhered, then inserted and fixated by tape-winding, and with a large diameter tubular portion extending from one end of the small diameter tubular portion. One portion of a stud bolt fixatedly inserted into a bolt hole bored in the peripheral rim of the wire harness through-hole on the vehicle body panel and protruding from both surfaces of the vehicle body panel passes through a bolt hole provided on the first grommet and is fixated by a nut, while another portion of the stud bolt passes through a bolt press-fitting hole provided on the second grommet.

  • Patent number: 8704099
Abstract: A grommet includes a small diameter tubular portion to which a wire harness is tightly fitted and inserted therethrough, and a large diameter tubular portion continuous to one end of the small diameter tubular portion. A silencer made of rubber is fitted within the large diameter tubular portion. The silencer includes a flat circular piece blocking a central cavity of the large diameter tubular portion. A wire harness insertion hole is provided on the flat circular piece communicating with the small diameter tubular portion of the grommet. A slit is provided from the wire harness insertion hole to an outer peripheral surface of the flat circular piece in order to insert the wire harness into the wire harness insertion hole with sideways insertion. The slit is provided with an irregularly shaped line portion to inhibit separation, configured with a keyhole-shaped or a dovetail groove-shaped line between both ends.

  • Patent number: 8575487
Abstract: A first trunk line of a wire harness is inserted into a wire harness insertion space of a protector main body, and branch lines pulled out and branching to the left and right from the outlet are respectively bound to a second trunk line routed in left and right directions to form a triangular space enclosed by the left and right branch lines and the second trunk line. An elongated portion projecting to a position covering the triangular space is provided to the lid which makes a lock connection to close an opening of the protector main body, and while a male engagement portion protrudes on the elongated portion, a female engagement portion to which the male engagement portion engages and latches is provided from the bottom wall of the protector main body, and the lid connects to the protector main body in the triangular space.
