  • Patent number: 5966129
Abstract: An image producing/displaying apparatus capable of inputting a command for changing a state of an object regardless of a form of the object includes a virtual world expressing system for constructing a virtual world including at least one object and environment in which the object exists and producing an image for visually displaying at least part of the virtual world, an output system for visualizing the image produced by the virtual world expressing system and outputting the image, and a command input system for inputting a command to the virtual world expressing system. The command input system detects a movement state of a specific pixel pattern contained in an image formed by an imaging device and extracts feature quantity from the movement state to recognize the command so that the command is notified to the virtual world expressing system.

  • Patent number: 5764801
Abstract: A method for decoding coded data is executed to use a decoder composed of plural decoding units, those units being parallel processors. The coded data is divided into a first and a second coded areas. A first decoding unit starts to decode the coded data from the head of the first coded area, that is, from the head of the overall coded data. A second processor starts the decoding process from the head of the second coded area, that is, from any location of code sequence from the head. If conflict takes place in the decoded data, the decoding device operates to repeat a trial-and-error operation for re-starting the decoding process from a new location close to the head of the second coded area. When the decoding process of the first decoding unit reaches the second coded area, if a right answer is found in the decoded result given by the second decoding process, it is picked up as the proper result.

  • Patent number: 5539534
Abstract: In scaling an image, a projected position is corrected in accordance with pixel values of original pixels surrounding a projected position where a pixel of a scaled image is projected onto an original image, and a pixel value of a pixel of a scaled image is determined in accordance with pixel values of original pixels surrounding a projected position after correction. Further, when a pixel of an original image is processed with a pixel run as a unit, coordinates of an end pixel of a pixel run in a scaled image are corrected based on the width of the pixel run and a scale factor.

  • Patent number: 5335084
Abstract: In an image filing system including an image scanner having at least a color mode and a monochrome mode as image input mode, for inputting document images; a key device for designating the image input mode of the image scanner, an image file for storing document image data inputted from the image scanner and a display screen on which the document images are displayed, a background corresponding to the image input mode is outputted when the document image inputted for the image scanner is displayed on the display screen. If a monochrome document is inputted for processing in a full color or multicolor mode, a monochrome input image and the background which is specific to the full color or the multicolor mode are outputted. Accordingly, a user which looks at the display notices that he or she should change the input mode and inputs the document image again prior to registration of the inputted image in a file.
