Abstract: Techniques for enabling members that have interacted physically to interact thereafter via an online social networking service are described. According to various embodiments, it is determined that a first member and a second member of an online social networking service physically interacted at an interaction location at an interaction time, and a specific time interval commencing at the interaction time is calculated. Thereafter, an ephemeral prompt is displayed to the first member, during the specific time interval, indicating that the first member physically interacted with the second member, and inviting the first member to message the second member via the online social networking service. The ephemeral prompt is prevented from being displayed subsequent to expiration of the specific time interval.

At least one of the content items includes a title and content. The content item is configurable in an expanded state corresponding to displaying all of the content of the content item upon a user selection and a contracted state corresponding to displaying a sub-portion of the content. The newsfeed is configured to display the content items in the contracted state upon the social network content item scrolling onto the user interface without respect to the content item being in an expanded state when previously displayed.

An apparatus may comprise a mobile computing device having a radio arranged to communicate information over a wireless link, a link classifier arranged to generate a class parameter for the wireless link based on signal quality measurements of the wireless link, and a data service manager arranged to receive a data service request from an application, determine whether the application may communicate information over the wireless link based on the class parameter for the wireless link, and generate a control directive for the application granting or denying the data service request.
