Abstract: An apparatus for providing IP multicast transport may include a processor and a memory. The memory may store exécutable instructions that in response to exécution by the processor cause the apparatus to at least perform opérations including receiving a key for encapsulation of multicast data at a base station, using the key to generate a response to a message indicative of a multicast connection for a particular service received from a gateway device, the base station being joined to a same multicast tree in a multicast-broadcast zone as the gateway device, and establishing the multicast connection with the gateway device via a multicast data path comprising a multicast tunnel associated with the key. Corresponding methods and computer program products are also provided.
