  • Patent number: 11897197
Abstract: A three-dimensional printer for generating a printed component, includes a build substrate defining a surface that supports the printed component and a heated nozzle including a nozzle body. The heated nozzle is configured to deposit a build material upon either the build substrate or the printed component. The three-dimensional printer also includes a heated plate including one or more heating elements and a main body that defines an opening for receiving the nozzle body of the heated nozzle. The one or more heating elements are configured to heat at least a portion of the heated plate to a predefined temperature, where a volume of hot air is created between the heated plate and the printed component when the heated plate is heated to the predefined temperature.

  • Publication number: 20220324160
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a printer head for a three-dimensional printer, a three-dimensional printer, and a method for thermally managing printed filament temperature. The printer head including a thermal management system. The thermal management system includes a fluid passage defined by a fluid duct coupled to an air supply, a fluid nozzle coupled to the fluid duct, a first opening defined in the fluid nozzle, and a heating element included in the fluid duct. The printer head also includes an extrusion nozzle, including a first end and a second end, the first end of the extrusion nozzle is mounted to a support frame and the second end of the extrusion nozzle extends through the first opening defined in the fluid nozzle.
