  • Publication number: 20230382739
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for wet chemical functionalization of single crystal diamond surfaces that involves gentle reaction conditions. This method enables a wide range of functional groups and molecules to be tethered to the diamond surface. The method is compatible with the formation of stable nitrogen vacancy centers with long spin coherence times within nanometers of the diamond surface.

  • Publication number: 20220393091
Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems are described for forming a superconducting qubit. An example device may comprise a substrate having a first surface and a patterned layer adjacent the substrate and comprising tantalum in an alpha phase. The patterned layer may comprise at least a part of a structure for storing a quantum state.

  • Publication number: 20200277196
Abstract: Disclosed are synthetic diamond materials for quantum and optical applications, such as quantum information processing, quantum key distribution, quantum repeaters, and quantum sensing devices, based on spin defects in diamond. This includes methods for synthesizing and treating diamond in order to create spin defects with improved spin coherence and optical emission properties, as well as treating the diamond to eliminate unwanted defects that degrade these properties.

  • Patent number: 8999105
Abstract: An etch mask is formed on a substrate. The substrate is positioned in an enclosure configured to shield an interior of the enclosure from electromagnetic fields exterior to the enclosure; and the substrate is etched in the enclosure, including removing a portion of the substrate to form a structure having at least a portion that is isolated and/or suspended over the substrate.
