  • Patent number: 6963605
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for estimating the motion between two digital images and to the use of this method for coding images. The aim of the method is to eliminate the disturbances caused by the mesh being overturned during the motion estimation process. According to the invention, the method consists of carrying out a first motion estimation in order to identify the faulty mesh, i.e. the mesh that is overturning or is overlapping after the displacement vectors have been applied; then carrying out a second motion estimation, excluding at least said faulty mesh, in order to minimize prediction error on the remaining mesh of the model.

  • Publication number: 20050055103
Abstract: The invention relates to a femoral prosthesis part, the metaphyseal part of which comprises a series of geometric sections (SA to SG) which are disposed in parallel to the transverse plane at equidistant levels. The aforementioned geometric sections are provided with a quadrilateral shape having strongly rounded summits. The two long sides of said sections converge in the medial direction and each section lies inside a geometric quadrangle which is located in the plane. The four sides of said quadrangle intercept, respectively, four geometric lines (m, l, a, p) which are obtained by projecting the profiles of the internal surface of the cortical bone. The above-mentioned geometric sections pivot in relation to one another in internal rotation from the bottom upwards in order to obtain the desired helitorsion angle.

  • Publication number: 20040247154
Abstract: A method for the watermarking of a sequence of video images implements a step for the insertion of at least one watermarking bit into at least one motion vector obtained by motion estimation between two images of said sequence, so as to obtain at least one watermarked motion vector. The motion vector is identified by its coordinates in a reference space, partitioned into two types of complementary zones, each having a distinct binary value associated with it. The insertion step implements, if necessary, a modification of the coordinates of said motion vector so that it is located in a binary value zone corresponding to said watermarking bit to be inserted. During said modification, at least two potential watermarked motion vectors are determined and, from among said potential watermarked motion vectors, an optimal watermarked motion vector is selected according to at least one predetermined criterion, so that the modified coordinates of said motion vector are those of said optimal watermarked motion vector.

  • Publication number: 20040218824
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for encoding at least a source image using a hierarchical mesh defining at least two nested spaces corresponding each to a decomposition level of said meshing, which consists, at least at a decomposition level n (except the first decomposition level), in delivering only image coefficients expressed in a base of functions defined in a space orthogonal to the space corresponding to the preceding decomposition level n−1, said functions being selected so that said image coefficients enable to optimize for said decomposition level n the data already transmitted for the preceding decomposition level n−1, so as to produce a reconstructed image, representing said source image, with optimized restoration quality for said decomposition level n.

  • Patent number: 6795070
Abstract: A method for encoding a digital image for producing a bit stream representing the image, the bit stream length depending on the quality of the desired representation, consisting in: a) defining, on the domain of the image to be encoded, a hierarchical meshing comprising a plurality of nested meshes whereof the mesh peaks are the image pixels; b) determining for each mesh of the hierarchical meshing, a brightness variation between the image to be encoded and an interpolated image obtained from the nested meshing peaks whereto pertains the mesh concerned; and c) inserting in the bit stream position, brightness and chrominance values of the peaks of meshes whereof the brightness variation is higher than a threshold variation useful for encoding fixed or animated images with speed reduction.

  • Publication number: 20040090438
Abstract: The invention concerns the refinement of a triangular mesh representing a three-dimensional object (3D), said mesh consisting of an arrangement of vertices and triangular surfaces, each defined by three references to the vertices which it links, and having three edges each linking two of said vertices. The invention is characterized in that said method comprises a step which consists in selecting at least a region of interest, said mesh refinement being carried out locally on at least one region of interest.

  • Publication number: 20040037422
Abstract: The invention relates in particular to a method of scrambling a video signal using an encryption key for controlling access to audiovisual information. The video signal is scrambled by applying a tattooing function to the video signal by using a marking key derived from the encryption key, the tattooing function including a parameter for regulating the amplitude of tattooing so as to enable the visibility of the tattooing in the video signal to be adjusted. The invention also provides a dual unscrambling method, and a system, an encoder, a decoder, a broadcast server, and a data medium for implementing said methods.

  • Patent number: 4777036
Abstract: In a process for the culture of Babesia canis, erythrocytes infected by the Babesia canis parasite are incubated in a culture medium suitable for the survival of the erythrocytes and for breeding of the parasites, in the presence of a homologous serum, in the substantially static state, in a normal atmosphere, first of all at a high temperature of 34.degree. to 38.degree. C., then a low temperature, more especially between 0.degree. and 10.degree. C., this cycle being able to be reproduced. The supernatant product is collected which is centrifugated and filtered.
