  • Publication number: 20030186643
Abstract: The invention concerns a vehicle heating and/or air conditioning device comprising a housing (4) emerging into the passenger compartment, a fan (18) for sucking in an air flow into the housing (4) and for blowing it into the vehicle passenger compartment, fragrance-supplying means comprising a case (40) containing an amount of one or several perfuming agents fixed on a support (44) housed in the case (40) and capable of releasing a fragrance. The case (40) comprises a diffusing zone perforated with passages (42) allowing through an air flow. The support (44) of the perfuming agent is mobile between a diffusing position and a storage position wherein the perfuming agent is isolated from the diffusing zone by a barrier proof against the perfuming agent vapour.

  • Patent number: 6468491
Abstract: In a technique for eliminating organic pollutants from the passenger compartment of a vehicle by photocatalysis, the upper face of the dashboard is covered with a layer of photocatalyst. This upper wall includes a plurality of orifices providing diffuse ventilation. The lower face of the dashboard also includes a layer of photocatalyst irradiated by a source of ultra-violet rays, the source being in a diffusion chamber.

  • Patent number: 6206775
Abstract: In a motor vehicle heating or air conditioning device, a pollution sensor for detecting a pollutant, particularly carbon monoxide, in an airflow sent into the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle is arranged downstream of an air filter. The pollution sensor detects the presence of pollutant in the filtered airflow and supplies pollution measurements of the filtered airflow. The sensor is linked to a control circuit acting on an air intake flap to supply the passenger compartment with a mixture of external air from outside the passenger compartment and/or recirculated air from the passenger compartment, depending on the pollution measurement results.

  • Patent number: 5983659
Abstract: An air conditioning installation for the cabin of a motor vehicle comprises an air treatment and distribution unit having an upstream chamber containing a fan and a downstream chamber containing distribution valves for distribution of treated air to the cabin. The two chambers are separated by an evaporator, through which air is driven by the fan into the downstream chamber. A collector for recovery of condensates is located below the evaporator and drains to outside the vehicle. The installation includes control means arranged to operate an automatic scavenging cycle immediately prior to the start of a period of air conditioning operation. This cycle consists in closing all the distribution valves and then running the fan for a predetermined scavenging period so as to drive the stale air out of the interior of the unit.
