  • Publication number: 20150173901
Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention relates to a tissue shaping device adapted to be disposed in a vessel near a patient's heart to reshape the patient's heart. Such tissue shaping device can include an expandable proximal anchor; a proximal anchor lock adapted to lock the proximal anchor in an expanded configuration; an expandable distal anchor; a distal anchor lock adapted to lock the distal anchor in an expanded configuration; and a connector disposed between the proximal anchor and the distal anchor, the connector having a substantially non-circular cross-section.

  • Publication number: 20150057695
Abstract: The invention provides improved medical devices, therapeutic treatment systems, and treatment methods for treatment of the lung. A lung volume reduction system includes an implantable device having an elongate body that is sized and shaped for delivery via the airway system to a lung airway of a patient. The implant is inserted and positioned while the implant is in a delivery configuration, and is reconfigured to a deployed configuration so as to locally compress adjacent tissue of the lung, with portions of the elongate body generally moving laterally within the airway so as to laterally compress lung tissue. A plurality of such implants will often be used to treat a lung of a patient.

  • Publication number: 20100322784
Abstract: A variety of arrangements and methods relating to a solar water heating system are described. Various implementations involve a relatively lightweight, affordable, low-pressure solar water heating system that is easier to ship and assemble and that is resistant to overheating and freezing damage. In one aspect of the invention, a solar water heating system includes a solar collector panel, a piping system and an improved, self-regulating expansion reservoir. Some designs involve automatic filtration, push fittings, a method for regulating power from a photovoltaic panel, UV resistant polymer components and/or other features. In a particular embodiment of the invention, multiple pumps, a heat exchanger and a controller for a solar water heating system are integrated into a single, compact module.
