  • Publication number: 20240065136
Abstract: An agricultural machine includes a tractor having a front end, a rear end, and a front frame coupled to the front end. The agricultural machine includes an implement coupled to the rear end of the tractor. The agricultural machine includes a supply line configured to transfer commodity from a front tank, which is configured to be supported above the ground by the front frame, to a main tank of the agricultural machine. The main tank distributes commodity to row units, which distribute the commodity to the soil, and the supply line transfers additional commodity to the main tank. The front frame is movable relative to the front end of the tractor to cause engagement of the supply line with the front tank.

  • Patent number: 11849665
Abstract: A seed delivery system for use in a seeding or planting machine that removes the seed from a seed meter by capturing the seed therefrom. The delivery system then moves the seed down to a lower discharge point and accelerates the seed horizontally rearward to a speed approximately equal to the forward travel speed of the seeding machine such that the seed, when discharged has a low or zero horizontal velocity relative to the ground. Rolling of the seed in the trench is thus reduced. Furthermore, as the seed only has a short drop from the outlet to the bottom of the seed trench, the seed has little vertical speed to induce bounce. The delivery system uses a brush belt to capture, move and accelerate the seed. By capturing the seed and moving it from the meter to the discharge, the seed is held in place relative to other seeds and the planter row unit. As a result, the seeds are isolated from row unit dynamics thereby maintaining seed spacing.

  • Publication number: 20230284546
Abstract: A mobile machine includes a frame and a set of frame support elements supporting the frame. A set of ground engaging elements is mounted to the frame and movable relative to the wheels to change a depth of engagement of the ground engaging elements with the ground over which the mobile machine travels. At least one actuator drives movement of the set of ground engaging elements relative to the frame. A ground sensor is operably coupled to the mobile machine and configured to provide a ground distance signal. Ground engaging element height adjustment logic is configured to receive the ground distance signal and provide a control output to the at least one actuator to generate a height value of the ground engaging elements relative to ground.

  • Patent number: 11730078
Abstract: A row unit for a work vehicle includes a row unit frame with a closer frame. The closer frame defines a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis. The closer frame is supported for rotational movement about a substantially vertical steering axis to vary a turning angle between the longitudinal axis the vehicle longitudinal axis. The row unit includes a closer implement assembly with first and second closer implements and a walking beam construction. The first and second closer implements are attached to opposite areas of the walking beam construction. The walking beam construction is rotationally attached to the closer frame to support rotation of the closer implement assembly about the transverse axis. The first and second closer implements are configured to move ground material into a ground opening from opposites sides as the work vehicle moves across the field.

  • Patent number: 11659782
Abstract: A control system for controlling an implement that is movable between a work mode and a transport mode. The control system includes a source of hydraulic fluid, a first actuator and a second actuator. The first and second actuators are fluidly coupled to the source and disposed parallel to one another. A sensor detects movement of the first and second actuators between their retracted and fully extended positions, and a control valve is disposed in communication with the sensor and in fluid communication with the first and second actuators. As the implement moves to its transport mode, the sensor detects movement of the first and second actuators towards their fully extended positions. The control valve inhibits movement of the first and second actuators before either actuator reaches its fully extended position.

  • Publication number: 20230122381
Abstract: A planting unit for a seeding machine having a frame member and a seed meter mounted thereto. The seed meter has a housing and a metering member rotatably mounted therein. The metering member has a sidewall with an inner surface and an outer surface with a rim portion of the sidewall adjacent an outer edge of the sidewall. The inner surface of the side wall and the housing form a trough at a bottom portion of the metering member to hold a seed pool. A mechanical seed delivery system takes seed from the metering member and moves seed to a discharge location adjacent a seed furrow formed in soil beneath the seeding machine.
