  • Publication number: 20190336390
Abstract: A bubble-generating apparatus comprises: a casing defining a casing bore extending longitudinally therethrough; and a diffuser located in the casing bore, the diffuser defining a diffuser bore extending longitudinally therethrough. The diffuser bore comprises a fluid-input region at or near a fluid-input end of the diffuser and a fluid-output region at or near a fluid-output end of the diffuser. A cross-sectional area of the diffuser bore in the fluid-input region is greater than the cross-sectional area of the diffuser bore in the fluid-output region. At least a portion of the diffuser is porous for permitting a flow of pressurized gas from a region of the casing bore located outside of the diffuser bore, through the porous portion of the diffuser and into the diffuser bore.

  • Publication number: 20180335024
Abstract: A pump may generally include a frame including a reservoir. The reservoir stores a hydraulic fluid. The pump may also include a motor assembly supported by the frame and a pump assembly operably driven by the motor assembly. The pump assembly is in fluid communication with the reservoir and configured to dispense the hydraulic fluid out of the frame. The pump assembly includes a first piston and a second piston, wherein the first piston dispenses hydraulic fluid out of the frame between a first pressure and a second pressure greater than the first pressure, and the second piston dispenses hydraulic fluid out of the frame between the first pressure and a third pressure, the third pressure being greater than the second pressure.

  • Patent number: 8584516
Abstract: A method is provided for centering a steering rack in an automotive vehicle, particularly a vehicle that includes an electric power steering (EPS) system. The centering method includes locating a center by using an electric motor of the EPS system. The method includes temporarily locking the steering rack in place and subsequently installing a steering wheel to a steering column. An on-board processor or ECU of the automotive vehicle determines or locates the center of the rack by detecting the first and second ends of the rack when at least one of a velocity of the electric motor reaches zero, a current of the electric motor reaches a preselected level, and steering angle of the electric motor stabilizes. The method monitors potential pinch point zones and reverses turning of the tires upon reaching the pinch threshold level and the automatic centering process is terminated.

  • Publication number: 20130007626
Abstract: A vehicle management system can generate a vehicle management user interface that depicts vehicle history information in timelines or graphical timelines. These history timelines can include information regarding vehicle location, speed, and idling, among other useful information. The graphical nature of the history timelines can quickly convey vehicle tracking details and potential problems, such as idling and congregation, to an administrator. Further, history timelines for multiple vehicles can be displayed in parallel, allowing comparison between histories for different vehicles.

The centering method includes locating a center by using an electric motor of the EPS system. The method includes temporarily locking the steering rack in place and subsequently installing a steering wheel to a steering column after the locating step. The method further includes operatively communicating with an on-board processor or ECU of the automotive vehicle and running a program to determine or locate the center of the rack. The method may also include detecting the first and second ends of the rack when at least one of a velocity of the electric motor reaches zero, a current of the electric motor reaches a preselected level, and steering angle of the electric motor stabilizes.

  • Publication number: 20060177908
Abstract: Compounds, genetic constructs, and cancer treatment methods are provided. Expression vectors were designed to express fusion genes including hIL-2 with a Fc?-? transmembrane anchor derived from a subunit of the FC epsilon receptor. mRNA and the IL-2tm fusion protein was expressed in transfected RD995 tumor cells. Expression of the IL-2tm protein on the tumor cell surface membrane was confirmed by microscopy. RD995 cells transfected with IL-2tm or pCMV2b (empty expression vector) were implanted subcutaneously into C3H/HEN mice. Tumors of mice implanted with 106 or 105 RD995 cells transfected with IL-2tm grew slower than controls. It is believed that selective expression of cytokines such as IL-2 on the surface of tumors is likely to stimulate tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes that are primed and already recognize tumor antigens, enhancing tumor recognition and killing, potentially avoiding toxicity associated with known cytokine therapies.

  • Patent number: 5915664
Abstract: An outboard motor steering arm support includes a rail attached to a stern of a boat, parallel to a common axis of the boat's steering arm and steering arm sleeve. One end of a sliding connector is slidably attached to the rail, and another end is fixedly attached to the distal end of the steering arm. The rail and sliding connector ensure precise alignment between the distal end of the steering arm and the axis of the sleeve at all times. Bending stresses on the steering arm are thus substantially eliminated. Therefore, the steering arm slides smoothly within the sleeve, and operator steering effort and mechanical wear are minimized.
