Patent number: 11953264Abstract: A method of manufacturing ceramic tape includes a step of directing a tape of partially-sintered ceramic into a furnace. The tape is partially-sintered such that grains of the ceramic are fused to one another yet the tape still includes at least 10% porosity by volume, where the porosity refers to volume of the tape unoccupied by the ceramic. The method further includes steps of conveying the tape through the furnace and further sintering the tape as the tape is conveyed through the furnace. The porosity of the tape decreases during the further sintering step.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2023Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: Corning IncorporatedInventors: Michael Edward Badding, William Joseph Bouton, Jacqueline Leslie Brown, Timothy Joseph Curry, Roman E Hurny, Lanrik Wayne Kester, Thomas Dale Ketcham, John Albert Olenick, Kathleen Ritter Olenick, Jeremy Paananen, Thomas Silverblatt, Dell Joseph St Julien, Viswanathan Venkateswaran, Nathan Michael Zink

Patent number: 7931621Abstract: An infusion assembly comprises a cannula subassembly and a source subassembly. The cannula subassembly includes a substantially planar base, a cannula projecting from the base so as to be beneath the patient's skin when the subassembly is deployed, and a generally cylindrical docking structure having a center axis substantially perpendicular to the base. A liquid medicament is dispensed from the cannula. The source subassembly is arranged to dock with the docking structure and includes a supply of liquid medicament that couples to the cannula upon the source subassembly docking with the cannula subassembly. The source subassembly also includes a primer that automatically primes the insulin fluid path to the cannula tip when the subassemblies are joined.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 2007Date of Patent: April 26, 2011Assignee: Calibra Medical, Inc.Inventors: Brett Cross, Brett J. Publication number: 20020145217Abstract: A method of preparing fiber preforms disperses fibers and binder on a forming support surface such that the materials are conditioned and then applied to the surface where the composite material solidifies. Reinforcing material, such as fiber, is mixed with binder, such as thermoplastic or thermoset materials, so that the materials adhere. Then, the adhesive mixture is dispersed in a controlled pre-determined weight ratio on the support surface where the mixture sticks to the support surface, cools and solidifies. The deposited mixture can also be shaped further into a final desired shape before complete solidification. This method eliminates the need for solvents and their associated problems. The process does not require a vacuum or plenum system to hold the reinforcing material in place. The preform can be made in any shape, including sections or asymmetric configurations.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 8, 2002Publication date: October 10, 2002Applicant: Brunswick CorporationInventors: Matthew Boyd, David Miller, John Krogmann, Corey Nianekeo, Nathan Dale
