Such methods and apparatus may include one or more computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions which, when executed by a processor on a computer system, perform a method for diagnosing an electronic self-service device fault condition. The method may include receiving an input from a self-service device. The input may include information regarding a fault-related event. The method may also include assessing a plurality of system-level ramifications of the fault-related event. In response to the assessing, the method may further include determining continued viability of a plurality of ATM services. The method may also include electronically providing a notification of a list of remaining viable self-service device services.

Abstract: An electronic self-service device, and a method for using same, is provided. A self-service device according to the invention may include a receiver module configured to receive an input from at least one motion detector. The input may include information corresponding to a security alert condition. The device may also include a security alert mitigation module and a processor module configured to determine whether the information exceeds a security alert condition threshold. When the information exceeds a predetermined security alert condition threshold, the processor module may be further configured to ameliorate the security alert conditions using the security alert condition mitigation module.

Abstract: A method and apparatus that allow a user to easily operate a self-service device despite the presence of damage is provided. Anticipated damage includes extreme environmental conditions such as earthquakes, flooding, strong winds, tsunamis, etc. These conditions may cause a failure in a portion of the self-service device. Improved ruggedness and redundant components are coordinated by suitable software to provide service despite damage to the self-service device. Additionally, access to some user accounts despite the loss of connectivity to a server maintaining user accounts is provided.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for an enhanced cash withdrawal transaction option are provided. The enhanced cash withdrawal transaction option may include using an ATM to display an initial ATM display. The initial ATM display may display multiple transaction options, the multiple transaction options including at least one cash withdrawal amount. Apparatus and methods for an additional enhanced cash withdrawal transaction are provided. The additional enhanced cash withdrawal transaction may enable a user to type an ATM PIN in an ATM keypad followed by a cash withdrawal amount. Apparatus and methods for an enhanced ATM customer display are also provided. The enhanced ATM customer display according to the systems and methods of the invention may customize an ordered ATM customer flow based on historical customer usage data.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus according to the invention are directed towards providing apparatus for generating an emergency one time use (EOTU) personal identification number (PIN) for use at one or more automated teller machines. The apparatus may include a receiver configured to receive (1) information corresponding to an account holder at a financial institution and (2) information corresponding to a request from the account holder to electronically generate an EOTU PIN. The apparatus may also include a processor configured to (1) determine a maximum amount of funds to be accessed using the EOTU PIN and (2) electronically generate the EOTU PIN. The apparatus may additionally include a transmitter configured to electronically transmit to the account holder information relating to the EOTU PIN.
