Publication number: 20220189039Abstract: A camera-based system and method for detecting, classifying and tracking distributed objects moving along surface terrain and through multiple zones. The system acquires images from an image sensor mounted in each section or zone, classifies objects in the zone, detects pixel coordinates of the object, transforms the pixel coordinates into a position in real space, and generates a path of each object through the zone. The system further predicts a path of an object from a first cell for matching of criteria to objects in a second cell, whereby objects may be associated across cells based on predicted paths and without the need to storage and transmission of personally identifiable information.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 29, 2020Publication date: June 16, 2022Inventors: RAPHAEL VIGUIER, TARA PHAM, MARTIN MCGREAL, ILAN NATHAN GOODMAN

Patent number: 11287728Abstract: An enclosure for an outdoor smart camera includes an environmentally sealed main housing with a core formed by a hollow heatsink. The heatsink runs through the interior of the housing with openings on either end of the heatsink to allow airflow. Heat emitting electronics inside the sealed main housing are mounted directly to the heatsink to conduct the heat passively through the heatsink to the external environment. The heatsink and main housing can be cut to any desired length to adjust the size of the enclosure and accommodate variable size and quantity of internal components. Mounting slots are included for mounting the enclosure easily to poles and other structures.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 2020Date of Patent: March 29, 2022Inventors: Ilan Nathan Goodman, Tara Pham, Peter Fallon, Dean Francis DiPietro

Publication number: 20170226588Abstract: A heuristic filtering system and method are described for variant DNA within a heterogeneous cell sample. After ion semiconductor sequencing, the amplicons are processed through a series of filters designed to eliminate noise in the variants to provide a clearer set of variant results. Reports are generated, showing both the filtered results and the effects the filters had on the original data.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 4, 2016Publication date: August 10, 2017Inventors: William M. STRAUSS, Nathan GOODMAN

Patent number: 8471758Abstract: Virtual Aperture Radar (VAR) imaging provides terminal phase radar imaging for an airborne weapon that can resolve multiple closely-spaced or highly correlated scatterers on a given target with a single pulse to provide an aimpoint update at a useful range to target without training data and without requiring a large aperture antenna. VAR imaging exploits the sparse, dominant-scatterer nature of man-made targets. The array manifold is constructed with a large number of basis functions that are parameterized by range or angle (or both) to target. The number of basis functions extends the capability to resolve scatterers beyond the Rayleigh resolution. However, this also makes the manifold underdetermined. A sparse reconstruction technique that places a sparsity constraint on the number of scatterers is used to solve the manifold to uniquely identify the ranges or angles to the scatterers on the target.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2011Date of Patent: June 25, 2013Assignees: Raytheon Company, The Arizona Board of Regents on behalf of the University of ArizonaInventors: Alphonso A. Samuel, Robert M. Pawloski, Nathan A. Goodman

Patent number: 8425878Abstract: The present invention is directed to the identification of a biomarker specifically located in the plasma membrane of pancreatic beta cells. It was selected by a Systems Biology approach on Massively Parallel Signal Sequencing datasets obtained in human islets and Affymetrix microarray datasets on human islets, purified rat primary beta and non beta cells and insulinoma cells. Based on a set of specific features the biomarker is a unique candidate for imaging and targeting strategies to study the pancreatic beta cell mass in health and disease (T1 D, T2D, pancreatic cancers, obesity, islet transplantation, beta cell regeneration).Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2009Date of Patent: April 23, 2013Assignee: Universite Libre de BruxellesInventors: Decio L. Eizirik, Daisy Flamez, Isabelle Salmon, Alix Berton, Isabelle Roland, Daniel Marechal, Marie-Claire Beckers, Leroy Hood, Nathan Goodman, Burak Kutlu

Patent number: 6694412Abstract: A multiprocessor digital data processing system comprises a plurality of processing cells arranged in a hierarchy of rings. The system selectively allocates storage and moves exclusive data copies from cell to cell in response to access requests generated by the cells. Routing elements are employed to selectively broadcast data access requests, updates and transfers on the rings.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2001Date of Patent: February 17, 2004Assignee: Sun Microsystems, Inc.Inventors: Steven J. Frank, Henry Burkhardt, III, Linda O. Lee, Nathan Goodman, Benson I. Margulies, Frederick D. Weber

Patent number: 5297265Abstract: A digital data processing apparatus has plural processing cells, each with a memory element that stores data page made up of plural subpages. At least one of the cells includes a CPU that can request access to a data subpage. A memory manager responds to selected data access requests by (i) allocating, within the memory local to the requesting CPU, exclusive physical storage space for a data page associated with the requested subpage, and (ii) storing the requested subpage in that allocated space. The apparatus recombines data pages and deallocates them on the basis of usage and access state. The apparatus also accesses data asynchronously with respect to execution of instructions by the CPU.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 1989Date of Patent: March 22, 1994Assignee: Kendall Square Research CorporationInventors: Steven J.
