  • Patent number: 4473047
Abstract: An improved compression release engine braking system is provided for internal combustion engines having two exhaust valves associated with each cylinder. The slave piston of the compression release brake is relocated so as to register with one of the two exhaust valves and the crosshead assembly is modified so that actuation of the exhaust valve rocker arms will open both exhaust valves in the normal manner during the fueling mode of engine operation while the slave piston of the compression release brake will open only one of the exhaust valves during the engine braking mode of engine operation.

  • Patent number: 4265203
Abstract: A governor (10) for an internal combustion engine has a resiliently biased flyweight influenced reciprocating member (26) for controlling the supply of fuel pumped to the engine. A means (39) is connected to the member (26) and is rotatable between a first position at which a first adjusting screw (42) is positioned for engagement with a first stop means (28) for establishing a first power setting of the engine and a second position at which a second adjustable screw (43) is positioned for engagement with a second stop means (29) for establishing a second power setting of the engine. The first and second stop means (28,29) are yieldable to control the lug characteristic and torque rise of the engine.

  • Patent number: 4070064
Abstract: A cooling system for cooling the cutting edge of an impact type ripper tip includes a source of liquid coolant under pressure and conduit means for supplying the coolant to a spray head mounted below and behind the ripper tip in a position to distribute liquid coolant to the lower surface of the tip behind the cutting edge. The spray head is detachably mounted directly behind the ripper tip and projects downward beyond the lower surface of the tip.

  • Patent number: 3961788
Abstract: A bulldozer blade comprises an upright member having a pair of laterally spaced end plates and a transversely disposed cutting edge secured thereon. A mounting plate is secured forwardly on the outboard side of each of the end plates and an adapter is secured forwardly on each of the mounting plates. An end bit and an earthworking tip are detachably mounted on each of the adapters.

  • Patent number: RE30769
Abstract: An impact rock breaker includes detachable mounting means and latching means operative to mount the rock breaker on the stick of a backhoe or excavator adjacent the bucket such that the rock breaker can be pivoted between a non-operative position out of the way of the bucket to permit normal operation of the bucket and an operative position latched to the bucket for movement with the bucket for normal operation of the rock breaker.
