Patent number: 10614385Abstract: Methods and systems for enforcing host standards in a reservation system. In one embodiment, a reservation system provides two methods of communication between a potential guest and a host, hard communications and soft communications. The reservation system associates both types of communication with threads, each thread associated with the host and an associated reservation. The reservation system determines suspension metrics for each host based on the communications of the threads they are associated with. When the suspension metrics associated with a host satisfy one or more suspension criteria, the reservation system issues a suspension to the host.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2018Date of Patent: April 7, 2020Assignee: Airbnb, Inc.Inventors: Lenny Rachitsky, Martin Anh Dung Nguyen, Vaughn Quoss, David Michael Holtz, Daniel Nathan Hill, James Allen Ostrowski, II, Nelson Aurel Gauthier

Patent number: 10441190Abstract: An EEG monitor with sensors placed to detect signals and analyze the signals to determine if a frequency below 12 Hz, and more particularly between 3 Hz and 8 Hz, called theta waves, are present. Theta waves are generated when the brain is entering a drowsy or sleep mode. The sensors detect brain wave signals and transmit the signals to a microprocessor which analyzes the signals and determines the brain waves being detected. The brain waves are continuously monitored and the data is continuously transmitted to a microprocessor. If brain waves are detected in the predetermined range of between 3 Hz and 8 Hz the microprocessor activates a stimulus, to wake up the person wearing the device. The stimulus may be visual, auditory or tactile, such as an actuator, a phone call or any other stimulus.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 2014Date of Patent: October 15, 2019Inventors: Nathaneal Hill, Jonathan Miller, Loren Adams, Logan Teancum Kratzer

Patent number: 10370039Abstract: A fairing assembly for a commercial vehicle is disclosed. The fairing assembly includes a fairing and a mounting system for mounting the fairing on a frame of the commercial vehicle. The mounting system includes a first mounting bracket assembly mounted on the fairing and a second mounting bracket assembly configured to be mounted on the frame. The mounting system is configured to hold the fairing in a covering position for laterally covering at least a major portion of a wheel of the commercial vehicle and allow the fairing and the first mounting bracket assembly to pivot from the covering position into an intermediate position and translationally move along the second mounting bracket assembly in a transverse direction of the commercial vehicle from the intermediate position into a stowed position in which the fairing rests on the second mounting bracket assembly via the first mounting bracket assembly.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2016Date of Patent: August 6, 2019Assignee: Daimler AGInventors: Ryan Geary, Michael Gatza, Nathan Hill, Kristen Crosby

Patent number: 6798889Abstract: A calibration system for calibrating multi-channel sound systems. The calibration system includes a method for calibrating a sound system that includes a plurality of loudspeakers. The method includes steps of mapping the plurality of loudspeakers into a virtual loudspeaker system representation displayable to a user, activating at least one calibration function that creates a calibration signal that is reproduced by one or more of the plurality of loudspeakers to produce a calibration sound perceivable by the user, modifying the virtual loudspeaker system representation to include a virtual calibration indicator that indicates a characteristic of the calibration signal, and adjusting the virtual calibration indicator based on a user input, wherein when the virtual calibration indicator is adjusted, a corresponding adjustment is made to the characteristic of the calibration signal until a selected calibration sound is achieved.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2000Date of Patent: September 28, 2004Assignee: Creative Technology Ltd.Inventors: Sam Dicker, Jean-Marc Jot, Nathan Hill, Vincent Cheng
