Patent number: 8826495Abstract: A electronic device includes a first housing body with a first hinged end, a first free end, and a first fastening surface between the first hinged end and the first free end. A second housing body has a second hinged end, a second free end, and a second fastening surface between the second hinged end and the second free end. A flexible member is fixed to the first fastening surface and passes though the first hinged end and through the second hinged end for connection to a sliding cartridge that is affixed to the second fastening surface. The sliding cartridge provides substantially constant resistance during 360° rotation between the first housing body and the second housing body.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 2011Date of Patent: September 9, 2014Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Nathan Isaiah Jauvtis, Philip J. Patent number: 8651507Abstract: A mounting assembly for attaching auxiliary equipment to a wheelchair includes multiple adjustment features. In the preferred embodiment, different wheelchair widths may be accommodated by utilizing attachment arms that pivot co-axially with a main column of the auxiliary equipment. The mounting assembly preferably includes a pair of arms and a pair of links that extend from the arms. The lengths of the links and the arms may be adjusted by rotation of a rod portion of each arm and each link, but other means for enabling changes in length are possible. The links are preferably pivotally connected to the arms, so that the distance between the ends can be varied on the basis of the particular wheelchair. Ball-and-socket joints are used, but rotatability of the sockets permits flexibility of the orientations of the joints. Additionally, a vernier adjustment effect may be included to permit adjustments in the angle of the main column.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2008Date of Patent: February 18, 2014Assignee: Daedalus Wings, Inc.Inventors: Bart Kylstra, Nathan Isaiah Jauvtis, Thomas Martin Cook, Sean Kerrel
