  • Publication number: 20160258119
Abstract: A movable machine includes an engine, a rotatably-mounted rotor, a rotor driver mounted on a frame supported on a plurality of ground engaging members; a rotor speed sensor and machine ground speed sensor provide a rotor speed signal and machine ground speed signal, respectively, to a controller. The controller is configured to use a current machine conditions parameter to determine an optimal rotor speed and command the rotor drive to adjust the rotational speed of the rotor to the optimal speed. The current machine conditions parameter includes the rotor speed signal, the machine ground speed signal, and cutting depth.

  • Publication number: 20160152122
Abstract: A canopy assembly includes a pillar extendable along a vertical axis to move a canopy assembly from a lowered position to a raised position. A hydraulic actuator disposed within the pillar is fastened to the pillar at a first end and at a second end of the pillar. The pillar includes a locking arrangement to prevent the canopy assembly to move from the raised position to the lowered position. A bracket including a base plate, a first arm, a second arm, a first mounting plate, a second mounting plate, and a third mounting plate, is coupled to the pillar. The second mounting plate and the third mounting plate are adapted to couple the bracket to the pillar. A frame is fastened to the base plate, the first arm and the first mounting plate, and a sunshade is coupled to the frame.

  • Publication number: 20150175226
Abstract: A hydraulic tensioning system for a tracked undercarriage is configured to position an idler wheel, supported by a frame assembly, relative to a drive sprocket. The hydraulic tensioning system includes at least one fluid actuator unit with a body that defines a recoil chamber, a tension chamber, and a wall in between the two chambers. A piston assembly is positioned between the body and idler wheel. A ram assembly is positioned between the body and frame assembly. A recoil circuit is in fluid communication with the recoil chamber and a tank. A fluid in the recoil chamber is relieved through a relief valve when the idler wheel is displaced. Fluid is introduced to the recoil chamber, urging the idler wheel away from the frame assembly, via the piston assembly. A tensioning fluid within the tension chamber selectively urges the idler wheel away from the frame assembly, via the ram assembly.

  • Patent number: 8556039
Abstract: A system and method for lubricating a key shaft in a compaction machine is disclosed. The compaction machine may include a spline oil cavity and a key shaft in fluid communication with the spline oil cavity. The key shaft may include an axial splined portion and a helical splined portion on an outer surface thereof, a longitudinal lubricating passage extending through a substantial length of the key shaft and a plurality of additional lubricating passages intersecting the longitudinal lubricating passage. The system and method may additionally include lubricating the axial splined portion and the helical splined portion of the key shaft with the lubricating oil drawn from the spline oil cavity.

  • Patent number: 8393826
Abstract: Apparatus for transferring a linear load through a high-speed rotating member includes a linear actuator containing an axially translatable cylinder rod. A mounting adapter fixed against axial and rotary movement is rigidly affixed to an actuator cylinder containing the cylinder rod. An elongate guide sleeve, fixed to the mounting adapter, extends axially from the adapter to accommodate an axially translatable thrust bearing affixed to one end of the cylinder rod. The guide sleeve contains a linear slot for accommodating a guide pin affixed to the thrust bearing housing, and transversely movable within the linear slot to prevent rotation of both bearing housing and cylinder rod components.
