  • Publication number: 20140232923
Abstract: In the present disclosure techniques related to display of device independent color differences are described. In examples, a color comparison graphical user interface (GUI) is operated. The GUI displays a color of a sample object. Further, the GUI displays a color of a reference object. • Publication number: 20140198983
Abstract: A target and a method to use the target to determine the translucence of media is disclosed. The target has a first region and a second region. The first region comprises a color chart. The second region comprises a test pattern that is covered by the sample media when the sample media is loaded onto the target. The test target has a first area and a second area, An image of the target loaded with the sample media is used to determine the translucence of the sample media. The color of the media over the first and second areas of the test target are matched to the nearest color patches in the image of the color chart. The estimated actual colors of the media over the first and second areas of the test target are determined using. the known colors of the nearest color patches. The translucence is determined using the difference between the estimated actual colors of the media over the first and second areas of the test target.

  • Patent number: 8588522
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a system and method for dynamic color correction of an imaged object. According to one embodiment, an image containing an object and color chart is received. The color chart includes a range of color values, while at least one feature and an associated correctable color value is determined from the imaged object. Furthermore, a target color value substantially corresponding to the correctable color value is identified. Based on the identified target color value, the correctable color value associated with the feature is then corrected.

  • Publication number: 20130258360
Abstract: A method of creating an ensemble of visible color reference patches first adds a set of starting colors to a queue. The process then finds a candidate color within a color selection zone that is furthest away from colors existing in the queue. This candidate color is then selected by placing it in the queue. The steps of finding and selecting are repeated until a target number of selected colors is reached. The process then generates visible color patches of the selected colors for forming the ensemble.

  • Patent number: 8368716
Abstract: In a method for processing pixel values of an image in a first representation to a second representation having a yellow-blue axis, a red-green axis, and a luminance axis, the pixel values are converted from the first representation to the second representation by converting the pixel values to a more opponent color encoding using a logical operator to compute a yellowness-blueness value of each of the pixel values and using scaled multiplications to compute a redness-greenness value of each of the pixel values in the second representation. In addition, the converted pixel values are outputted.

  • Publication number: 20110307247
Abstract: A method and a system for lexical navigation of a corpus of items are provided. For example, the method may include generating a data structure in a non-transitory, computer readable medium. The data structure may include a number of items, a number of keywords, and a frequency that each of the keywords is associated with each of the items. The method may further include generating a top-level lexical cloud that includes a subset of the keywords. Each keyword in the subset may be associated with a size that is proportional its frequency of occurrence. Finally, the method may include generating a plurality of lower-level lexical clouds by eliminating any one of the plurality of items not associated with a particular one of the keywords from the data structure, and generating the lower level lexical cloud as a second subset of the plurality of keywords that remain in the data structure.

  • Publication number: 20070116353
Abstract: A method and system for selecting image elements, such as image pixels or vectors, of a digital image provide a set of lexical classifiers, such as a set of color names, which characterize a visual attribute of the image elements such as color. A lexical classifier is assigned to each image element, e.g. by a transform between the image element color values under the original numerical color encoding model of the image and the set of lexical classifiers. A reference lexical classifier is selected, e.g. by selecting an image element and determining its associated lexical classifier, and the image elements are then selected if their lexical classifier corresponds to the reference lexical classifier. The selected image elements may then be acted on as a group.
