    Abstract: A bicycle battery system includes a battery tray that mounts within a cavity formed by an opening in a bicycle tube. The battery tray includes a latch mechanism, a first base portion that mounts to the latch mechanism, and a second base portion that mounts to the first base portion. The first base portion includes a cup that is sized to mate with an interior of the bicycle tube. The system also includes a battery that is sized to fit within the battery tray. A first end of the battery includes a protrusion that is sized to fit within the cup of the first base portion, and a second end of the battery includes a secondary latch to secure the second end to the battery tray. The system further includes a battery cover plate mounted to the battery.
