    Abstract: Decontamination compositions useful to decontaminate potentially toxic materials, such as PAH and others, present on clothing comprise an aqueous solution of a water soluble cerium salt or a dispersion of cerium oxide in water. The decontamination composition may optionally include at least one of an oxidizer, a surfactant, a co-solvent, a chelating agent, and a polymer. Methods of decontaminating clothing involve applying the decontamination composition to the clothing.
