  • Patent number: 7779134
Abstract: Cached or predictive negotiation of compression parameters over a modem relay network connection involves method and apparatus for determining at a gateway the identity of a client/server modem that is called or calling, and using a profile of such called or calling client/server modem, the profile being stored at the gateway or an affiliated agent, to transmit respectively a candidate response or command containing compression parameters. Preferably, a candidate response or command includes an exchange identification (XID) or link request (LR) command or response, either provisioned, i.e. manually configured or automated, i.e. computer-generated. The profile is stored in a memory. The actual achieved parameters for a given call also may be stored, e.g dynamic learning may be had. Finally, establishing such profiles by placing dummy calls once the modem's phone number is known also is described as a feature of the invention.

  • Patent number: 7590132
Abstract: A network device has a processor to control message traffic between the network device and other devices in a network, a port to allow the network device to send and receive the message traffic and a transcompression element to receive indicators of compression renegotiation messages and to transmit indicators of compression renegotiation acknowledgement, as well as perform compression/decompression. A method of controlling compression in a network receives an indicator of compression renegotiation at a decompressor on a first network device, and transmits an indicator of compression renegotiation acknowledgement to a compressor element on a second network device. Another method of controlling compression in a network determines if a compression method for outgoing data is compatible with a decompression method for incoming data.

  • Patent number: 6923606
Abstract: The invention provides a reconfigurable patient support pallet system for transporting patients on litters. The patient support pallet system includes a pallet mounted to the floor of a vehicle. The pallet has a plurality of track rails and attachment points for attaching a litter stanchion set, capable of holding a patient in a litter, and/or for attaching a seat to the surface of the pallet. The pallet also includes a plurality of pallet lips and cargo rings on the periphery which provide locations to attach one or more pallet extensions, pallet spacers and/or pallet ramps to increase the usable surface area of a pallet, as well as facilitate safe passage on, off and between pallets by reducing tripping hazards inherent in cargo aircraft.
