  • Publication number: 20220338454
Abstract: An engineered genetic incompatibility (EGI) strain of a wild-type organism is designed to include a haplosufficient lethal allele and a haploinsufficient resistance allele. In another aspect, a biocontainment system generally includes a polynucleotide that encodes a coding region whose expression causes infertility or death, a transcription regulatory region operably linked upstream of the coding region and containing a silent mutation, and a polynucleotide that encodes a programmable transcription activator. The programmable transcription activator is engineered to bind to the transcription regulatory region in the absence of the silent mutation, thereby expressing the coding region in the absence of the silent mutation, but does not initiate expression of the coding region when the transcription regulatory region comprises the silent mutation.

  • Patent number: 11397750
Abstract: A centralized datastore maintained by a service provider may maintain current versions of objects (e.g., applications, documents, websites, etc.). A local datastore residing on user devices of users may maintain local versions of the objects. A user may submit a modification to the object and, upon determining that a version of the local object is the same as the version of current version of the object, a current version of the object may be updated to include the modification. If the version and the current version are different, individual fields of the object may be analyzed to determine if the modification involves a change to data that conflicts with data within the same field in the current version of the object. If not, the objects may be merged and the current version of the object may be updated to include the modification. Otherwise, the modification will be rejected.

  • Publication number: 20220125005
Abstract: A ceiling vent assembly for use in a ceiling of an animal house. The ceiling vent assembly has a frame that is open at its top and bottom and a pair of louvers pivotably mounted in the frame such that each louver of the pair of louvers pivots between an open position and a closed position relative the frame. Each louver of the pair louvers has a pivot end, wherein the pivot end of a first louver of the pair of louvers is located adjacent to but spaced apart from the pivot end of a second louver of the pair of louvers. The ceiling vent assembly has a sealing mechanism with a flange extending from the pivot end of each louver of the pair of louvers, wherein the flange from the first louver contacts the flange from the second louver in a space between the louvers such that the sealing mechanism reduces the flow of air through the space when the first and second louvers are in either the open or closed positions.

  • Publication number: 20220054039
Abstract: Passively monitoring a user's breathing with a device can include identifying breathing modes of the user's breathing and responsive to detecting a trigger mode based on the identifying, generating an instruction adapted to the trigger mode. The instruction can be conveyed to the user via the device. The monitoring can include determining phases of the user's breathing with the device. Determining the phases can include receiving acoustic signals generated by an acoustic sensor in response to a user's breathing and generating acoustic data comprising features extracted from the acoustic signals. Phases of the user's breathing can be determined by classifying the acoustic data using a machine learning model trained based on signal processing of motion signals generated by a motion sensor in response to human breathing motions. Though trained using signal processing of motion signals, the machine learning model is trained to classify acoustic data.

  • Patent number: 11223645
Abstract: Methods and systems are presented for providing enriched technical security data to a risk engine of an online service provider, and for adjusting security settings based on the enriched data. The enriched security data may be generated by recursively deriving additional security information from an initial security data input. The initial security data input may be associated with a risk source, such as a person or a device that submits an electronic request to the online service provider. Based on the initial security data input, the risk engine may recursively derive additional security information that enriches the initial security data input. The risk engine may then use the derived security information as well as the initial security data input to assess a risk level of the risk source, and then adjust a security setting of the online service provider based on the assessed risk level of the risk source.

  • Patent number: 11204746
Abstract: A method for modifying a call graph may include identifying, in source code, a first call site including a first predicate and a call from a first function to a second function. The first call site may correspond to a first edge of the call graph. The first edge may connect a first node corresponding to the first function and a second node corresponding to the second function. The method may further include modifying the call graph by labelling the first edge with a first encoding of the first predicate, and identifying, in the source code, a second call site including a second predicate and a call from a third function to the first function. The method may further include in response to determining that the first predicate is unsatisfied, modifying the call graph by labelling the second edge with a second encoding of a violation of the first predicate.
