  • Publication number: 20230103975
Abstract: An injector includes a push rod, a magazine tube, a gate, a cannula and an actuator. The magazine tube has a lumen extending from an inlet to an outlet thereof. The magazine tube slidingly receives at least one implant therein. The gate has a closed configuration in which it covers the outlet of the magazine tube and an open configuration in which it does not cover the outlet of the magazine tube. The cannula has a distal end configured to be inserted into an eye. A lumen of the cannula is in fluid communication with the lumen of the magazine tube when the gate is in the open configuration. Actuation of the actuator moves the gate from the closed configuration to the open configuration and causes translation of the pushrod through the magazine tube and the cannula.

  • Publication number: 20210204765
Abstract: A method for loading a stack of interfolded paper units into a dispenser includes inserting a stack of interfolded paper units into an interior volume of the dispenser through a dispenser opening. The dispenser has a lid having a dispensing aperture, as well as a movable platen that has a paper-engaging surface, and which is urged upwardly toward the dispenser opening. A bottom wall of the dispenser is disposed opposite the dispenser opening, and a lock of the dispenser is selectively engageable with the platen. The stack is placed on the platen and a downward force is exerted on the top surface of the stack to thereby push the platen downward until the platen has been engaged by the lock and has reached a locked position in which the paper-engaging surface has an oblique orientation relative to the bottom wall of the dispenser.

  • Patent number: 8987572
Abstract: A system and method for teaching a user to discriminate and match musical pitch is disclosed. A pitch module generates a first melodic sequence for a user. The pitch module generates at least two symbolically depicted sequences including a first symbolic sequence that represents a pitch frequency that, when played, matches the first melodic sequence. A tracking module receives a selection of the first symbolic sequence and advances to a next level in response to receiving the selection of the first symbolic sequence.

  • Publication number: 20130020347
Abstract: A strip dispenser (70) for dispensing one strip (S) from a plurality of strips (S). The strip dispenser (70) includes a container (2) that is constructed and arranged to hold a number of strips (S). There is a first structure (3) that defines one or more thin slots (8) that are generally parallel to the perimeter of the container (2), and that have a smallest dimension that is greater than the smallest dimension of a strip (S), where the slots (8) are configured and arranged to inhibit two strips that are stuck together back to back from passing through the slot (8) together. There is also a strip sorting structure (4) that inhibits a strip (S) that has at least partially passed through a slot (8) from fully leaving the container (2) until the strip (S) is pulled out of the container (2) by the user.

  • Publication number: 20110163118
Abstract: A dispensing apparatus includes a container having an opening, and a doser coupled with the container about the container opening. The doser includes a housing forming a chamber with an interior wall, an inlet, and an outlet. The inlet is diametrically offset from the outlet, and substantially aligned with the opening of the container. The doser also includes a covering member to alternatively cover and open the inlet and the outlet. The covering member is movable about a range of positions to substantially completely cover at least one of the inlet and outlet at all positions in the range. The covering member covers no more than a portion of the chamber interior wall when the covering member completely opens the outlet.
