Publication number: 20250050430Abstract: A handheld powered pocket hole drilling system is provided. The system includes a base assembly having a plate. The plate has a drill bit opening extending through the plate. The system includes a drilling assembly and a drill bit connected to the drilling assembly. A drill guide assembly is operably connected to the base assembly and the drilling assembly. The drilling assembly is movable along the drill guide assembly to extend and retract the drill bit through the drill bit opening at an angle. An actuating assembly is operably connected to the drilling assembly. The actuating assembly is configured to move the drilling assembly and drill bit between a retracted position and an extended position. In some arrangements, the actuating assembly moves a drilling assembly and drill bit rearward and downward to the extended position and a handle of the actuating assembly is moved forward and downward.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2024Publication date: February 13, 2025Inventors: Neil M. Patent number: 12220556Abstract: A bidirectional electroosmotic pump may be provided. The bidirectional electroosmotic pump may be made of materials that are biocompatible and non-ferrous. The bidirectional electroosmotic pump may be part of an implantable medical device for the purpose of medicine delivery. The bidirectional electroosmotic pump may contain a working fluid and may facilitate the delivery of a separate payload fluid. In an exemplary embodiment, the bidirectional pump may contain bellows which may allow the pump to deliver the payload fluid through a series of valves and/or catheters. In another embodiment the bidirectional electroosmotic pump may contain a pump sensing mechanism to monitor the state of the pump.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2023Date of Patent: February 11, 2025Assignee: CraniUS LLCInventors: John Cai, Nathan Scott, Charles Watkins, Ashley Hinga, Elayna Williams, Charlotte Quinn, Mark Gonzales, Owen Friesen, Conner Delahanty

Publication number: 20240340082Abstract: A communication method including emitting laser pulses as a signal using one or more transmitters at an atmospheric point. Plasma is generated at the atmospheric point to radiate omnidirectional light. The plasma from the atmospheric point is detected using one or more receivers. The one or more receivers have a direct line-of-sight to the atmospheric point to receive the signal from the one or more transmitters via the omnidirectional light generated by the plasma. The signal is demodulated from the transmitted plasma at each receiver, thereby transmitting information encoded on the signal.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 4, 2023Publication date: October 10, 2024Applicant: THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AS REPRESENTED BY THE SECRETARY OF THE NAVYInventors: Nathan Scott Barnwell, Brittany E. Publication number: 20240318085Abstract: Methods for making biofuels, such as biokerosene, from various alcohols and nonanoic acid, a primary product of the ozonolysis of oleic acid. The products exhibit excellent low-temperature performance. Cloud points of the nonanoic esters range from ?35 to ?70° C. This super low-temperature performance shows the potential for replacing winter-season diesel, kerosene, and jet fuels. The products also show excellent oxidation stability and low greenhouse gas emissions. The energy densities of the products increase with the carbon atoms in the alcohols and are less than current biodiesel. The products generally have flash points higher than 90° C., indicating safer handling and storage. Compared to current biodiesel, the products have no issues with the cold soak filtration test.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 22, 2024Publication date: September 26, 2024Inventors: Junli Liu, Nathan Scott Mosier

Patent number: 12033149Abstract: A payment card security system includes a payment card provider account system communicatively coupled to a payment card transaction device and a mobile device. The payment card transaction device sends an indication that a payment card is being used to perform a transaction. The payment card provider account system includes processors that receive the indication that the payment card is being used to perform the transaction from the payment card transaction device. The processors also send a notification indicating that the payment card is being used to perform the transaction. The processors further enable authorization of the transaction via the mobile device. In this manner, the payment card security system may prevent or reduce the occurrence of suspicious transactions as they are occurring, rather than waiting until after they have occurred.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 2021Date of Patent: July 9, 2024Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)Inventors: Nathan Scott Harman, Ashley Nicole Munoz, Matthew David LaBrenz, Mark Jeffrey Wallace, Bryan Leonard Bain, William Daniel Farmer, James Edward Finley, Jr., Arthur Vajirasarn

Publication number: 20230061881Abstract: A measurement device characterizes an environment. The measurement device includes a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter transmits a transmitted light. The transmitter includes an atomically two-dimensional material for emitting the transmitted light. The atomically two-dimensional material is tunable to select a predominate wavelength of the transmitted light within a tunable range of wavelengths. The receiver receives a received light, which is the transmitted light after encountering the environment.
