Abstract: A laminated packaging film useful in producing such items as containers or pouches for liquid or semi-liquid matter, comprises an outer web of balanced biaxially-oriented thermoplastic material, a middle web of metallized thermoplastic material and an inner web of heat-sealable polyolefin. A vinylidene chloride polymer coating is provided on at least one of the outer or middle web. The pouches and containers formed by this film are exceptionally strong, durable and flexible.

Abstract: A laminate blank suitable for use in making a credit or identification card is disclosed. It consists essentially of, in order, a surface carrier film, a magnetic coating and a card substrate. The surface carrier and magnetic coating comprose a unitary transfer tape. The card substrate is bonded to the magnetic coating by means of a strong adhesive. In contrast, the carrier film and magnetic coating of the tape are relatively very weakly united. This construction facilitates application of the requisite magnetic coating to the surface of the eventual card, and permits ready access to such coating through simple mechanical removal of the tape carrier film of the blank.

Abstract: A packaging laminate suitable for use in the manufacture, for instance, of bags capable of packaging bulky cuts of meat containing sharp edged bones as prepared subsequent to butchering, comprising a face or outer layer of a polyamide such as nylon, an intermediate non-woven web of synthetic resin filaments, and an inner layer formed by a grease-resistant synthetic-resin film and the bags, pouches and wrappings prepared from such laminates. The web may be spun-bonded polyester, polypropylene or polyethylene. The innermost layer may be an ionomer or an ethylene/acrylic acid copolymer.

This material -- composed, in order, of a non-woven sheet of spun-bonded polymeric filament; a metallic foil; and an inner surface ply of heat-sealable polyolefin -- is readily produced and yields an exceptionally strong and durable laminate useful inter alia for the production of container bags and pouches capable of retaining contents of substantial volume and/or weight.
