Abstract: A geopressure and geothermal power system includes at least one pressure exchanger configured to receive a production fluid and a working fluid. At least one power generation unit is fluidly coupled to the pressure exchanger. At least one production well is positioned at least partially within a geothermal reservoir and provides the production fluid to the pressure exchanger. The system may also include at least one heat exchanger fluidly coupled to the at least one pressure exchanger and configured to one of, a) receive from and b) provide to, the at least one pressure exchanger the production fluid and the working fluid.

Abstract: An active imaging system for imaging a target is described. The system includes a transmitting unit, a receiving unit, an antenna arrangement coupled to the transmitting unit and/or the receiving unit via a front end unit, and an image processing unit coupled to the receiving unit. The system also includes a control system coupled to the transmitting unit, the receiving unit and/or the image processing unit for controlling operation thereof. The antenna arrangement includes at least one rotating antenna synthetically forming a circular antenna. The image processing unit is configured for creating an image of the object by employing a synthetic aperture radar imaging algorithm.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for integrating interactive toys with interactive television and cellular communication systems are described. Interactive toys have real time conversations with users, preferably employing speech recognition. Interactive toys are preferably connected to at least one interactive toy server which is preferably connected to entertainment, education, sales promotion and other content providers possibly via Internet communication systems. Such a connection may utilize, for example, telephone lines, cellular communication systems, coaxial cables, satellite, DSL or other broadband systems. Interactive toys may be connected, via a wireless link, to a computing device such as a home computer, an Interactive Television set-top box or a base unit which provides Internet connectivity for the toy. Interactive toys may support mobile cellular or satellite communication. These toys are able to provide entertainment, education, sales promotion and other content to a user.

Abstract: A shield to prevent splattering and dripping of paint for a paint roller, such a paint roller being conventional using a nap type of a roller which is rotatably mounted upon an offset handle. The shield comprises a center part to which is hingedly secured front and back sections. Elastic bands are employed on each end of the housing to hold together the front and back sections to the center part when in operation. Also, the elastic bands function to connect the shield to the paint roller structure. In the shielding position, the housing surrounds the paint roller to intercept the paint spray. When the roller is removed from the painted surface, the shield is free to pivot to catch droplets that would otherwise fall to the floor. An adjustable adaptor assembly is employed on each end of the housing to permit the shield to be employed with rollers of different nap thicknesses.
