Patent number: 11548756Abstract: A retractable reel system includes a reel, a gear assembly, a paddle wheel and a spring. The reel includes a concentric wheel shaft where the reel and wheel shaft rotate to wind and unwind a length of material from the reel. The gear assembly engages with an end of the wheel shaft to provide a gear reduction ratio between the wheel shaft and an output shaft of the gear assembly. The paddle wheel is connected to and concentric with the output shaft, and the paddle wheel includes a paddle that extends beyond an outer edge of the paddle wheel that rotates with the paddle wheel. The spring is arranged outside the outer edge of the paddle wheel. The spring is compressed by the paddle to store an energy when the reel is rotated to unwind the length of material from the reel. The stored energy is used to rotate the reel to wind the length of material around the reel.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2022Date of Patent: January 10, 2023Assignee: Imagination Plastics LLCInventor: Nathaniel Pearson

Patent number: 10653056Abstract: A seed metering system includes a seed tank including a seed tank outlet, and a number of row units. Each and every row unit of the number of row units comprises a singulating meter in selective communication with the seed tank outlet, a bypass conduit in selective communication with the seed tank outlet, and an outlet. The seed metering system further includes a volumetric metering system positioned upstream of the number of row units and operable to volumetrically meter the plurality of seeds. The seed metering system is operable in a first mode of operation in which the seed tank outlet communicates with each singulating meter via the volumetric metering system to singulate the plurality of seeds. The seed metering system is operable in a second mode of operation in which the seed tank outlet communicates with each bypass conduit via the volumetric metering system and seeds are not singulated.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2017Date of Patent: May 19, 2020Assignee: DEERE & COMPANYInventors: Elijah B. Garner, Beth A. Wolfs, Nathaniel Pearson

Publication number: 20170086351Abstract: A seed metering system for selectively metering a plurality of seeds includes an outlet of a source of seeds. A singulating meter is in selective communication with the outlet. A bypass conduit is in selective communication with the outlet. The seed metering system is operable in a first mode of operation in which the outlet communicates with the singulating meter to singulate the plurality of seeds. The seed metering system is further operable in a second mode of operation in which the outlet communicates with the bypass conduit and the plurality of seeds is not singulated.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2015Publication date: March 30, 2017Inventors: Elijah B. Patent number: 8379090Abstract: A collaborative video touring method may allow local personnel of a facility and users who are located remotely from the facility to interactively participate in a virtual visit of the facility, during which the local personnel and the remote users may tour a number of different areas of the facility. In some implementations, the visited facility may have a video monitoring system with one or more adjustable video cameras, each of which may be directed at different areas of the facility, and the video captured by the various cameras may be displayed concurrently to the local personnel and to the remote users. Such concurrent display may, in some embodiments, allow the users at the different locations to interactively discuss the video being displayed, similar to if the remote users were physically touring the facility with the local personnel.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2009Date of Patent: February 19, 2013Assignee: Target Brands, Inc.Inventors: Nathaniel Pearson, Gwen Michael

Publication number: 20120191366Abstract: The present invention relates to methods, apparatus and computer systems for assigning a numerical value to a genotype at a single- or multi-base segment in an individual's genome to denote the presence of a match or a mismatch of a nucleic acid base sequence of one or more chromosomal copies of the segment, as compared to the nucleic acid base sequence at a reference genome segment that corresponds to the segment of the individual's genome. The methods involve assigning a single digit numerical value to the match or the mismatch of each chromosomal copy of the segment in the genome, so that the numerical value assigned to a mismatch is greater than the numerical value of the match. A null symbol is assigned to a no call determination. The assigned numerical values are summed and a total numerical value which is a single digit or a fixed number of digits is obtained.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 20, 2012Publication date: July 26, 2012Inventors: Nathaniel Pearson, Katherine Elizabeth D'Aco

Publication number: 20120110013Abstract: The present invention pertains to methods, apparatuses and systems for providing a visually simple and salient display of an individual's genomic data overlaid onto one or more relational networks of one or more biological objects, such as information about genes, regulatory regions, promoters or enhancers. The present invention utilizes individual genomic variant information that is annotated with variant information of one or more relational networks having information of biological objects. The display also provides a representation as to the type and nature of individual's variant associated with the relational network such as homozygous variants, heterozygous variants, previously reported genotype-phenotype association, situation within a splice-site region, category of change (e.g., frameshift, nonsense, missense, etc.), predicted effect on protein function (function-changing, tolerated, etc.), and novelty.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 28, 2011Publication date: May 3, 2012Inventors: Jorge Conde, Nathaniel Pearson
