Each of the plurality of reel tine bars includes a biasing member for biasing the reel tine bar to rotate about its central longitudinal axis, and a plurality of tines. A cam assembly guides rotation of the plurality of reel tine bars. The cam assembly includes a primary cam for guiding rotation of the tine bars during rotation of the central rotatable shaft, and a moveable or stationary secondary cam. The moveable secondary cam pivots the tine bars about their longitudinal axes away from a cutterbar. Alternatively, a moveable diverter cooperates with the stationary secondary cam to pivot the reel tine bars about their longitudinal axes away from the cutterbar.
