  • Patent number: 10904588
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for stitching independently encoded content streams together such that they appear to be part of a single streaming session.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 8, 2019
Date of Patent: January 26, 2021
    Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.
Inventors: Nathaniel Stewart, Lei Li, Mairo Pedrini, Patrick Joseph Lewis, Ravindra Ganti, Parminder Singh, Gaurav Saxena, Kent Haakan Karlsson, Yongjun Wu
  • Patent number: 10812559
Abstract: Techniques are described for just-in-time variable adaptive encoding and delivery of media content. Fragments of media content are encoded at bitrates corresponding to available bandwidth of client devices. If the available bandwidth changes, the bitrate at which fragments are being encoded is adjusted to correspond with the changed bandwidth.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 18, 2017
Date of Patent: October 20, 2020
    Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.
Inventors: Benjamin Forman, Joseph Michael Pavey, Bobby Castleberry, Ravindra Ganti, Stephen Han, Euan McLeod, Gaurav Saxena, Nathaniel Stewart, Yongjun Wu

  • Publication number: 20100203469
Abstract: This invention relates to oral hygiene in particular to oral hygiene means comprising a chamber for active fluid to which a first passageway in a toothbrush is connectable, a flexible panel on the chamber, a piston to co-operate with the flexible panel, a drive means for the piston, a spent fluid chamber to which a second passageway in a toothbrush is connectable, and a means of creating a low or negative pressure connected to the spent fluid chamber, at least the chamber for fluid being disposable and replaceable for each oral hygiene operation.

  • Patent number: 6699038
Abstract: A toothbrush which includes a handle with a head portion at one end, a recess in the head, a bristle pack located in the recess with the bristles attached by one end to the base of the recess, the recess opening being bounded by inwardly directed shoulders, and the outer extremities of the bristles lying in abutting relationship with the inner faces of the shoulders. There is a fluid supply line provided along or through the handle and communicating with the recess. Preferably, the bristle pack is formed by a number of clusters of bristles, it being the outermost clusters that are in close abutting relationship with the edges of the shoulders of the recess, and adjacent clusters at least at the edges of the pack being in close but spaced relationship.

  • Patent number: 6315556
Abstract: A toothbrush including a handle that has a first chamber towards a closed end in which is located a bristled head, and access passageways through the bristled head externally of the bristles. The access passageways communicate with the first chamber. A fluid supply line is provided on or in the side of the first chamber from which extend the bristles of the bristled head. The fluid supply line extends into the bristled head and has at least one outlet sited within the confines of the bristles. In addition, there is an air vent to prevent a build up of vacuum in the mouth of the user, located on the side of the first chamber from which extend the bristles of the bristled head. The air vent terminates at one end in close proximity to the bristles to that side of the bristled head, and terminates at the other end at a distance along the length of the handle to ensure that it cannot be fouled by the mouth of a user.
