  • Publication number: 20130177104
Abstract: An orthogonal multi-rate modulation method for modulating a symbol vector made up of a plurality of data symbols is disclosed. The orthogonal multi-rate modulation method includes the following steps: firstly, a precoding matrix, in which the column vectors are mutually orthogonal, is provided. Then, a product of the symbol vector and the precoding matrix is made to generate a precoded vector. Finally, the precoded vector is filtered by a Nyquist Analog Filter, so as to output a complex baseband waveform.

  • Publication number: 20130109787
Abstract: The present invention provides an organic/inorganic compositive dispersant and a method for producing the same. The compositive dispersant comprises a complex of inorganic clay and an organic surfactant. The compositive dispersant is produced by reacting inorganic clay with the organic surfactant in a solvent to generate a complex. The inorganic clay is layered or platelet. The organic surfactant is an anionic surfactant such as alkyl sulfates, or a nonionic surfactant such as octylphenol polyethoxylate and polyoxyethylene alkyl ether. The compositive dispersant may be used to produce electrolytes of a solar cell or to increase the hardness of an epoxy resin.

  • Publication number: 20130100457
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for low coherence optical imaging, and more particularly to an apparatus for low coherence optical imaging which can obtain the information of the different depths of a sample simultaneously. The apparatus comprises a phase transformation unit or a beam shift unit. The phase transformation unit or beam shift unit transforms and reflects the reference light, such that the reflected reference light comprises different phases at the different positions of a cross-section. When the reference light and a information light from the sample are superimposed on a photo detector, the information of the different depths of the sample is obtained. By using the apparatus of the present invention, the elements, the volume, and the cost of the apparatus are reduced. Because of only two-dimensional scanning is required, the scanning rate is improved.

  • Publication number: 20130070596
Abstract: A method to realize IP flow mobility (IFOM) between 3GPP access and non-3GPP access over GTP based interfaces is proposed. A user equipment is connected to a PDN-GW via a 3GPP access network and a non-3GPP access network. The UE transmits an IFOM triggering message to the PDN-GW, which selects IP flows to be moved based on EPS bearer ID and IP flow description. The PDN-GW sends an Update Bearer Request to a WAG or ePDG, and updates its mapping table if the Update Bearer Request is successful. The UE also updates its mapping table upon receiving an IFOM acknowledgement from the WAG or ePDG. The PDN-GW initiates a 3GPP bearer modification procedure to move the selected IP flows.

  • Publication number: 20130060171
Abstract: A rehabilitation and training apparatus is built based on the empirical law by introducing physical therapists' experiences into the apparatus to simulate therapy with hands in the course of rehabilitation. The apparatus includes a multi-axis robotic arm having first to eighth arm segments, and a high-precision control system for controlling movements of the multi-axis robotic arm. The control system provides an active, a passive and an auxiliary mode; receives and computes information about a patient's movements and muscle force detected by potentiometers and force sensors provided in the multi-axis robotic arm; and accordingly, drives actuators to apply an aiding force or a resisting force to assist the patient in completing rehabilitation exercises. The apparatus also includes a humanized operating interface, via which a doctor or a physical therapist may obtain related rehabilitation data for assessment and adjustment of rehabilitation therapeutic courses.

  • Publication number: 20130046481
Abstract: It is developed a Dual-Spectrum Heat Pattern Separation (DS-HPS) algorithm to quantify the energy from the area of the high temperature tissues, called qH map, and decompose the body surface into the high and normal temperature areas based on a pair of middle-wave Infra-red images and long-wave Infra-red images. Further, with longitudinal registration, we can detect the cancerous tissues and assess the chemotherapy treatment response on a pixel by pixel basis according to the change of the qH map derived by the DS-HPS algorithm. The preliminary result shows the area and the qH values in the high temperature area are decreased as the patients receive more chemotherapy. These suggest the proposed algorithm could capture the incremental or decremental of the energies emitted by the cancerous tissues, which has the potentials for chemotherapy assessment and early detection.
