  • Publication number: 20220411745
Abstract: The present invention discloses a genetically engineered Kluyveromyces sp. yeast cell comprising at least a genetic modification that inactivates or deletes a nucleic acid sequence encoding for transcription factor SEQ ID No. 2, particularly Haal. The genetically engineered yeast cell according to this invention has an improvement of lactic acid tolerance, lactic acid production or a combination thereof as compared to the parental.

  • Publication number: 20220090149
Abstract: The present invention discloses a genetically engineered Kluyveromyces sp. yeast strain that is capable of producing lactic acid from carbon source selected from glucose, fructose, sucrose or a mixture thereof wherein the genetically engineered yeast comprises at least one heterologous DNA cassette that confers production of a protein functioning as a fructose importer. The genetically engineered yeast strain according to this invention has an improvement of fructose utilization and use fructose as a faster rate than conventional strain, allowing for shorter fermentation times and improved economics.

  • Patent number: 11242507
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel mutant strain Aspergillus aculeatus E14-292 and a genetic modification process of said strain, wherein the mutant strain according to this invention can produce cellulase and xylanase more than the BCC199 (wild type). Moreover, the obtained enzymes can be used to digest the pretreatment bagasse to further produce sugars effectively.

  • Publication number: 20200056212
Abstract: This invention relates to a fermentation process for producing D-lactic acid or its salts. The said process comprises the following steps: cultivating of Sporolactobacillus laevolacticus bacteria strain by fermentation with sugarcane juice in order to obtain the seed culture; fermenting of the obtained seed culture in sugarcane juice, wherein the cultivation step is operated for the time that the final concentration of Sporolactobacillus laevolacticus strain in the cultivation step is in a range of 400 to 1,600 mg of dry cell per liter. The said process according to the invention can provide high productivity and yield of the D-lactic acid with a high optical purity. Moreover, the said process can be easily done and reduces the complicate steps.
