    Abstract: A bracket for holding a disk drive or other subassembly in a chassis may have a pair of rails that lie under the disk drive when the disk drive is coupled to the bracket. A bracket assembly may include an injector pivotably coupled to a base of the bracket. The injector may include a pin that engages a slot in the chassis to urge the bracket assembly into the chassis. The injector and base may, include latch elements for latching the injector to the base. A latch element of the base may be integrally formed with a body of the base.

The injector/ejector may reside in the groove when the injector/ejector is in a closed position. A latch member may be coupled to the panel. The latch member may selectively hold the injector/ejector in the closed position in the groove. A body of the latch member may reside in a groove in the panel. In certain embodiments, latch member for a module injector/ejector is attached to the panel using a snap-on arrangement. In certain embodiments, the panel for a module may be made of a flat sheet having a fold that defines the groove.

The electrical assembly may include a latch device that holds the injectors in a closed position after injection of the electrical assembly.

    Abstract: An interlock system may control a sequence of installation of circuit board assemblies into a chassis and/or removal of the circuit board assemblies from the chassis. In one embodiment, an interlock member may inhibit installation of one circuit board assembly until another circuit board assembly has been fully installed in a chassis. An interlock member may also inhibit removal of the one circuit board assembly until another circuit board assembly has been removed. In some embodiments, an interlock member may inhibit use of injector/ejectors to inject or eject a circuit board.

The engaging member may engage a portion of the chassis when the component is withdrawn to a predetermined position in the chassis to inhibit removal of the component from the chassis. The control member may be a handle that disengages the engaging member from the chassis when the handle is deployed.

    Abstract: A combination of a plastic part and metal part functions as a fastener to attach a panel to the flange of a portion of a chassis for electronic equipment or the like. The panel is formed with a counterbored hole and has an arcuate groove outside the counterbore on the outside of the panel and angularly spaced dimples on the underside. The fastener is a peripherally flanged hollow cylindrical member fitting into the hole and counterbore. It has a partially closed bottom and opposed openings in the cylindrical walls. A detent slants upward-outward from the bottom through one of the openings. A metal clip attaches to the cap, having an inverted U-shape having a web and two depending sides which fit through the openings. The top has a shoulder which locks outside the detent to hold the parts assembled and has a locking extension beyond the shoulder.

    Abstract: The present invention pertains to standoff devices used to hold a circuit board a fixed distance from a mounting surface such as another circuit board. The present invention divides the standoff into two interacting members. The first member has a base and two arms disposed to define a receiving slot between the two arms. The second member is comprised of a head portion, a tapered portion, and a tongue portion. The second member is slidably disposed within the receiving slot of the first member, and is capable of being locked into place in two distinct locking positions within this receiving slot. By sliding the second member from the first locking position to the second locking position, the standoff is locked into place between the circuit board and the mounting surface. The present invention discloses a secure locking system utilizing locking projections and cooperating depressions to accomplish this locking function.

    Abstract: A modular storage container including a drawer configured to be received into and contained by a housing. The housing consists of two identical molded units that are joined and fastened together by a guide bracket. The guide bracket also functions to position the drawer within the housing. The drawer slides within the housing on a drawer glide which interfaces with the guide bracket of the housing. Two sets of ridges are disposed on outer surface of the base of each molded unit. When two or more containers are stacked, the ridges on the top of the supporting container will interdigitate with the ridges on the underside of the mounted container to align the containers squarely atop each other and to inhibit longitudinal and lateral movement of the stacked containers. Each container has a drawer lock for security.
