Publication number: 20180017959Abstract: The invention comprises methods, systems and computer programs for providing context based assistance to a control system operator. The invention comprises (i) detecting a first instance of a control system event, (ii) determining event complexity corresponding to the first instance of the control system event, and (iii) responsive to event complexity exceeding a predefined complexity threshold: (a) retrieving a set of operator inputs received at a control system in response to a detected second instance of the control system event, wherein the second instance of the control system event was detected prior in time to the detected first instance of the control system event, and (b) communicating to the control system operator, information identifying a set of operator inputs for responding to the detected first instance of the control event, wherein the identified operator inputs are a sub-set of the retrieved set of operator inputs.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 10, 2017Publication date: January 18, 2018Applicant: Yokogawa Electric CorporationInventors: Alagu Raja PANDIAN, Naveen KASHYAP, Subramanian PERIASWAMY, Nivashkumar RAMACHANDRAN

Patent number: 9146555Abstract: A system and method for managing life cycle of a batch in a production control system in real time. The system comprises of an enterprise management system, manufacturing execution system (MES), task execution assistance (TEA) system and a production control system. The TEA system is interfaced between the MES and the production control system for executing the production request. The batch production request generated by the enterprise management system is received by the MES wherein the MES forwards the batch production request to the TEA system. The TEA system obtains information required to execute the batch production request from the production control system. Upon obtaining the information the TEA system instructs an operator to create the batch in the production control system. The production control system confirms the creation of the batch and updates real time status of the batch to the TEA system.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2012Date of Patent: September 29, 2015Assignee: YOKOGAWA ELECTRIC CORPORATIONInventors: Naveen Kashyap, Jagadeesh Narayanarao, Sastry Garimella

Patent number: 7672796Abstract: A method for providing a system for establishing a control valve performance in a process operation. The system includes establishing an expected flow rate for a control valve by measuring a differential pressure between an upstream and downstream position of a control valve of interest and using the formula Q = Cv × ? ? ( x ) × ? ? ? P G , measuring an actual flow rate across the control valve, comparing the actual flow rate with the expected flow rate to determine the difference in value between the actual and expected flow rate, determining if the difference is within an acceptable range of values from the expected flow rate and establishing the performance of the control valve.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2007Date of Patent: March 2, 2010Assignee: Yokogawa Electric CorporationInventors: Joseph Ching Hua Lee, Sharad Vishwasrao, Naveen Kashyap, Emelin Ornelas
