  • Patent number: 11373203
Abstract: A method of generating a fixed-price variable-offer multi-tier thread generator may include receiving, a by a computer processor(s), at least a fixed price, a thread expiration criteria and specification for at least two offerings for the fixed price. Each of the at least two offerings correspond to one of at least two tiers of offerings, where the fixed price entitles a first member and any subsequent members on a thread to redeem a qualified offer associated with a qualified tier, in exchange for paying the fixed price, upon the occurrence of at least one thread expiration criteria. The at least one product or service offerings the thread qualifies for, upon the occurrence of the at least one thread expiration criteria, may be dependent upon a total number of members, including the first member who starts a thread from the thread generator and any subsequent members who join the thread and who have agreed to pay the fixed price.

  • Publication number: 20220160365
Abstract: A ligation device for treating hemorrhoids includes a locking mechanism. The ligation device includes an inner tubular member having a first end, a second end, and a protrusion on an outer surface. The first end includes a first opening and the second end includes a second opening. Further, the ligation device includes an outer tubular member having an inner configuration corresponding to that of the inner tubular member. The outer tubular member including a notch such that a reception of the protrusion of the inner tubular member by a first portion of the notch of the outer tubular member allows vertical movement of the outer tubular member and a reception of the protrusion of the inner tubular member by a second portion of the notch of the outer tubular member prevents vertical movement of the outer tubular member towards the first end of the inner tubular member.

  • Patent number: 11276997
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method of integration and compensation in a protection relay. The method may include the protection relay: receiving a measured signal from a Rogowski coil and converting the measured signal to digitized samples, where the measured signal is a differentiated current signal over time; iteratively computing integrated current data from the digitized samples using a first digitized function to obtain integrated value; iteratively computing a compensated current data from the integrated current data using a second digitized function to remove a DC component in the integrated current data; evaluating the compensated current data to identify a fault condition; generating a trip signal on identification of a fault condition to operate a switch to electrically disconnect to protect the power equipment. The steps of integration and compensation may be performed in time window that is within the time period of the measured signal.

  • Patent number: 10366225
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for allowing a configuration change of an Intelligent Electronic Device (IED) of a power system, wherein the configuration change affects an operation of the IED. The method comprises receiving a request at the IED for the configuration change, wherein the request comprises a configuration change signal. The configuration change signal is received at the IED in response to establishing a connection between an I/O module of the IED and a signalling component. The method further comprises verifying the request automatically by the IED, wherein verifying the request comprises detecting a predetermined signal pattern at the I/O module upon receiving the configuration change signal, wherein the predetermined signal pattern is stored in a memory associated with the IED. In addition, the method comprises enabling the configuration change in response to successful verification of the request by the IED.

  • Patent number: 10129878
Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamically switching between frequency bands as a result of a detected condition that has the potential to degrade performance on the current band of operation. An access point having the capability to operate on multiple bands provides information necessary to form a communication link on a different band of operation, such as the channel of operation and any security credentials. Accordingly, a device that is associated with the access point on one frequency band may first receive the alternate band switching information and subsequently dynamically switch to a different band of operation using the alternate band information.

  • Patent number: 9887530
Abstract: A protection relay is disclosed that generates a trip signal to operate a circuit breaker in case of a fault condition. A first module provides measurement and analysis of power parameters of the power line connecting the power equipment that is being protected, the protection being provided by generating a first trip signal for operating a circuit breaker connected in the power line. One or more second modules can boost performance of the protection relay by measurement and analysis of power parameters-to generate a second trip signal for operating a circuit breaker connected in the power line. The first trip signal and the second trip signal are logically combined to generate a trip signal that operates the circuit breaker.

  • Publication number: 20160143072
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed that allow a first wireless device to form a peer-to-peer (P2P) connection with a second wireless device that does not operate on the social channels of a first frequency band. The first wireless device receives, from the second wireless device, an action frame indicating a selected channel in a second frequency band. The first wireless device may scan a number of social channels in the first frequency band to discover a presence of another wireless device, and then scans the selected channel to discover the presence of the second wireless device.

  • Patent number: 7765489
Abstract: Participants of a medical study are notified of and perceive information related to adverse events on a toolbar. The configuration of a toolbar may be different if a serious adverse event is being presented than if an insignificant adverse event is being presented. Serious adverse events include adverse events having severity greater than insignificant adverse events, having severity greater than a predetermined threshold, requiring hospitalization, and/or being life-threatening. Insignificant adverse events include adverse events that affect patients in an unexpected manner.
