    Abstract: Method and apparatus for locating viscous water blocking material beneath a tube in a groove of a core member of an optical cable. The material is laid into the base of the groove and the tube inserted into the groove so as to displace the material from the base and around the tube while a space between the tube and base of the groove remains filled with the material.
