Abstract: A method implemented in a user equipment (UE) used in an orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) wireless communications system supporting coordinated multi-point (CoMP) joint transmission (JT) is disclosed. The method includes measuring reference signal received power (RSRP), transmitting, to a network, first feedback on the RSRP, receiving, from the network, a CoMP measurement set, conducting pre-scheduling CoMP UE fallback according to the CoMP measurement set, computing channel quality and direction information according to a UE category, and transmitting, to the network, second feedback on the channel quality and direction information. Other methods, apparatuses, and systems also are disclosed.

Abstract: A method includes generating a normal trace in a training stage for the monitored software systems and a monitored trace in the deployment stage for anomaly detection, applying resource transfer functions to traces to convert them to resource features, and system call categorization to traces to convert them to program behavior features, performing anomaly detection in a global scope using the derived resource features and program behavior features, in case the system finds no anomaly, generating no anomaly report, in case the anomaly is found, including the result in an anomaly report; and performing conditional anomaly detection.

Abstract: A method for request profiling in service systems with kernel events includes collecting kernel events traces from a target system, the kernel event traces being obtainable from individual service machines by instrumenting core kernel functions, analyzing kernel event traces for constructing end-to-end request profiling traces consisting of kernel events belonging to service processes, and categorizing request traces responsive to the analyzing with the constructing including grouping requests based on marking kernel events used in the analyzing.

Abstract: An optical access network with centralized digital optical line termination OLT including an optical line termination unit having a digital transmitter and a coherent receiver for downstream signal transmitting and upstream signal receiving, and at least one optical network unit ONU with transceiver functions for communicating with the OLT over an optical path, the ONU including intensity modulation and single photodiode detection, wherein the digital transmitter includes digital signal processing DSP, digital-to-analog conversion DAC and analog-to-digital conversion ADC functions that can be shared by all multiple ones of the ONU in the network, the DSP reducing or removing dispersion and non-linearity effects in the network and the coherent receiver enabling performance of the downstream stream signal transmitting to match that of the upstream signal receiving in the OLT.

Abstract: An optical network includes receiving inter-rack traffics from transmitter racks, converting by transmitters the inter-rack traffics to respective wavelength division multiplexing WDM optical signals, receiving and routing by a cyclic interleaver the optical signals from the transmitters to output ports in a cyclic manner, converting respective routed optical signals from the cyclic interleaver into respective electrical signals, and demodulating OFDM formats from respective converted optical signals containing signals for respective receiver racks.

Abstract: A method for scalable analysis of Android applications for security includes applying Android application analytics to an Android application, which in turn includes applying an application taint tracking to the Android application and applying application repacking detection to the Android application, and determining security vulnerabilities in the Android application responsive to the analytics.

Abstract: A debugging system used for a data center in a network is disclosed. The system includes a monitoring engine to monitor network traffic by collecting traffic information from a network controller, a modeling engine to model an application signature, an infrastructure signature, and a task signature using a monitored log, a debugging engine to detect a change in the application signature between a working status and a non-working status using a reference log and a problem log, and to validate the change using the task signature, and a providing unit to provide toubleshooting information, wherein an unknown change in the application signature is correlated to a known problem class by considering a dependency to a change in the infrastructure signature. Abstract: Disclosed is a method of performing static data race detection in concurrent programs wherein a control flow graph (CFG) is decomposed into layers of bounded call-depth which are then used to perform a resulting analysis. Next, a set of pointers of interest are segmented into classes such that each pointer may only be aliased to pointers within its own class, these classes related to computation of shared variables, locksets, waitsets, and notifysets. A flow sensitive context sensitive points-to-analysis for program statements that impact aliases of members within the given class is performed—advantageously reducing the overall size of the problem at hand. Notably, the analysis for individual threads is performed independently of one another, on multiple layers of the CFG, and subsequently merging the results from the individual layers.

Abstract: A system for analyzing a multi-threaded program includes a processor and a data storage device coupled to the processor to store a multi-threaded program execution and code for detecting one or more lock cycle conditions from the executed trace to identify one or more livelock or deadlock potentials, and code to confirm the livelock or deadlock potentials in a controlled re-execution.

Abstract: Disclosed is a computer implemented method for fully automated tissue diagnosis that trains a region of interest (ROI) classifier in a supervised manner, wherein labels are given only at a tissue level, the training using a multiple-instance learning variant of backpropagation, and trains a tissue classifier that uses the output of the ROI classifier. For a given tissue, the method finds ROIs, extracts feature vectors in each ROI, applies the ROI classifier to each feature vector thereby obtaining a set of probabilities, provides the probabilities to the tissue classifier and outputs a final diagnosis for the whole tissue.

Abstract: There are provided a system and method for predicting query execution time in a database system. A cost model determination device determines a cost model of a database query optimizer for the database system. The cost model models costs of queries applied to the database system. A profiling device determines profiling queries for profiling input/output cost units and processor cost units relating to the database system, and profiles the cost units using the profiling queries to output profiled cost units. A calibrating device calibrates cost units in the cost model responsive to the profiled cost units to output calibrated cost units. A sampling re-estimator samples and re-estimates a cardinality estimation of a final query plan to output an updated cardinality estimation. A predictor applies the calibrated cost units and the updated cardinality estimation in the cost model to generate a prediction of an execution time of a given query.

Abstract: Methods and systems for seamless context transfers include receiving a context object from one or more applications, where the context object including updated context information for a user having an associated timestamp; entering the updated context information into a context information database; determining entries of the context information database for the user having a timestamp older than a predetermined threshold using a processor; purging the determined entries from the context information database; and sending an updated context object to one or more applications that reflects a current state of the context information for the user.

Abstract: A system and method for discovering a set of possible iteration sequences for a given loop in a software program is described, to transform the loop representation. In a program containing a loop, the loop is partitioned into a plurality of portions based on splitting criteria. Labels are associated with the portions, and an initial loop automaton is constructed that represents the loop iterations as a regular language over the labels corresponding to the portions in the program. Subsequences of the labels are analyzed to determine infeasibility of the subsequences permitted in the automaton. The automaton is refined by removing all infeasible subsequences to discover a set of possible iteration sequences in the loop. The resulting loop automaton is used in a subsequent program verification or analysis technique to find violations of correctness properties in programs.

Abstract: A method for metric ranking in invariant networks includes, given an invariant network and a set of broken invariants, two ranking processes are used to determine and rank the anomaly scores of each monitoring metrics in large-scale systems. Operators can follow the rank to investigate the root-cause in problem investigation. In a first ranking process, given a node/metric, the method determines multiple scores by integrating information from immediate neighbors to decide the anomaly score for metric ranking. In a second ranking process, given a node/metric, an iteration process is used to recursively integrate the information from immediate neighbors at each round to determine its anomaly score for metric ranking.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for network communication using wireless base stations and an optical orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) signal generated on an optical wavelength, with the optical OFDMA signal being composed of a plurality of OFDMA subcarriers. A multi-level modulator modulates each of the plurality of OFDMA subcarriers. A single optical wavelength propagates each of the plurality of OFDMA subcarriers to different base stations; a passive optical splitter delivers the optical OFDMA signal to different base stations; and an OFDMA subcarrier de-multiplexer delivers and extracts traffic for each of the base stations in an electronic-domain, wherein the extracted traffic is remodulated in a wireless signal format. Antennas at each of the base stations transmit wireless signals, and the wireless signals are recovered and processed from the base stations.

Abstract: Systems and methods for consolidating workload on one or more computing devices, comprising: generating tenant performance profiles for at least one of a buffer memory size and a buffer warmness; assigning one or more tenants to a database management system (DBMS) instance; configuring the one or more tenants to minimize a total server count needed to host the one or more tenants; and reducing the total server count by adjusting of buffer sizes while satisfying Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements.
