  • Patent number: 10177493
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly includes a connector housing, a cap, and a lever pivotably attached to the cap. The lever moves from a transport position, a preliminary mating position, and a fully mated position. The connector assembly has a first holding means holding the lever in the transport position and a second holding means holding the lever in the preliminary mating position. The first holding means has a locking arm on the lever and a latching projection on the cap. The connector housing has a wall extending towards the cap configured to release the locking arm from the latching projection and move the lever towards the preliminary mating position. The second holding means comprises a locking protrusion and a locking reception receiving the locking protrusion when the lever is in the preliminary mating position. A mating connector displaces the locking protrusion to release the lever when the assembly is mated.

  • Patent number: 9728896
Abstract: An electrical connector comprising a cover, a mating assist lever pivotally mounted to the cover and configured to pivot between an open position and a closed position, and a connector positioning assurance (CPA) member slideably mounted to the cover and configured to slide between an inoperative position and a locked position. The CPA member comprises a flexible locking arm that is bendable between a bent position and a rest position. The flexible locking arm comprises a blocking ramp that cooperates with a blocking shoulder on the cover to generate a first threshold force resisting the CPA member from sliding from the inoperative position to the locked position and a locking ramp that cooperates with the locking shoulder on the mate assist lever to bend the flexible locking arm from the rest position to the bent position to prevent the blocking ramp and the blocking shoulder from cooperating.

  • Patent number: 9653845
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly comprising a connector housing; and a mate assist mechanism comprising a lever pivotably arranged on the connector housing. The lever is movable from a preliminary mating position to a fully mated position, and is configured to be releasably held in the preliminary mating position by a holding means. The holding means comprises a locking protrusion and a corresponding locking reception receiving said locking protrusion when the lever is in the preliminary mating position.

  • Patent number: 9178307
Abstract: A connector system having a first connector and a second connector. The first and the second connector are moveable relative to one another along an axis in order to connect and disconnect the contacts of the first connector and the second connector. The first connector has a lever mounted at the pivot point and is pivotal around an angle. The lever has a surface extending in the circumferential direction and which extends substantially through the essentially along the same angle. The surface has a first planar section and a second section having a radially extending tooth system. The lever is movable from a first, second, and third position. The housing of the second connector has a complementary tooth system. The tooth systems become engaged when the lever is moved from the second to third position, thus moving the first connector and the second connector toward one another along the axis.
