Publication number: 20130067495Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for suspending logically related processes associated with an application, determining whether to resume a suspended process based upon one or more wake policies, and/or managing an application state of an application, such as timer and/or system message data. That is, logically related processes associated with an application, such as child processes, may be identified and suspended based upon logical relationships between the processes (e.g., a logical container hierarchy may be traversed to identify logically related processes). A suspended process may be resumed based upon a set of wake policies. For example, a suspended process may be resumed based upon an inter-process communication call policy that may be triggered by an application attempting to communicate with the suspended process. Application data may be managed while an application is suspended so that the application may be resumed in a current and/or relevant state.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 12, 2011Publication date: March 14, 2013Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Neeraj Kumar Singh, Hari Pulapaka, Arun Kishan, James A. Schwartz, JR.

Publication number: 20120308124Abstract: A method is provided for localizing parts of an object in an image by training local detectors using labeled image exemplars with fiducial points corresponding to parts within the image. Each local detector generates a detector score corresponding to the likelihood that a desired part is located at a given location within the image exemplar. A non-parametric global model of the locations of the fiducial points is generated for each of at least a portion of the image exemplars. An input image is analyzed using the trained local detectors, and a Bayesian objective function is derived for the input image from the non-parametric model and detector scores. The Bayesian objective function is optimized using a consensus of global models, and an output is generated with locations of the fiducial points labeled within the object in the image.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 4, 2012Publication date: December 6, 2012Applicant: KRIEGMAN-BELHUMEUR VISION TECHNOLOGIES, LLCInventors: Peter N. Publication number: 20110243461Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for automatically classifying face images are provided. In some embodiments, features of the face image to be classified for an attribute are selected, wherein each of the features corresponds to a different region of the face image and specifies one or more of a type of pixel data to be evaluated for the region, a normalization to be applied for the region, and an aggregation to be applied for the region. The face image is classified with respect to the attribute based on the features of the image, and the attribute and a confidence value are assigned to the face image based on the classifying. A query is received from a user, and the attribute is identified as corresponding to the query. The face image is determined as corresponding to the attribute, and the face image is identified to the user as corresponding to the query.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2009Publication date: October 6, 2011Inventors: Shree K Nayar, Peter N Belhumeur, Neeraj Kumar, Alexander C Berg

Publication number: 20110123118Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for swapping faces in images are provided. In some embodiments, a detected face and face data corresponding to an input image is received. A pose bin associated with the detected face is then identified based on the face data. Next, the detected face is aligned to a generic face associated with the pose bin. At least a portion of a candidate face associated with the pose bin is selected. The at least a portion of the candidate face is then copied to a copy of the input image that is aligned with the generic image to form a swapped-face image. The swapped-face image is next aligned to the input image to form an output image, and then the output image is outputted to a display.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 26, 2010Publication date: May 26, 2011Inventors: Shree K. Nayar, Peter N. Belhumeur, Dimitri Bitouk, Neeraj Kumar

Patent number: 7759962Abstract: A method for performing a bias temperature instability test on a device includes performing a first stress on the device. After the first stress, a first measurement is performed to determine a first parameter of the device. After the first measurement, a second stress is performed on the device, wherein only the first parameter is measured between the first stress and the second stress. The method further includes performing a second measurement to determine a second parameter of the device after the second stress. The second parameter is different from the first parameter.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2008Date of Patent: July 20, 2010Assignee: Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Ltd.Inventors: Jiaw-Ren Shih, Neeraj Kumar Jha, Rakesh Ranjan, Naresh Kumar Emani

Publication number: 20080233935Abstract: An architecture is presented that automatically detects a location of a user and forwards messages to a pre-configured number associated with the detected location. A location system is provided that comprises a location component and a routing component. The location component publishes presence information of a mobile device. The presence information is associated with a physical location of the mobile device. Once the mobile device's presence information is published, the routing component automatically sets the call forwarding to the physical location for communication to a user of the mobile device. The message is routed to a pre-configured number associated with the physical location of the mobile device. A user of the mobile device pre-configures numbers associated with various frequently visited physical locations (e.g., home, club, etc.).Type: ApplicationFiled: March 20, 2007Publication date: September 25, 2008Applicant: MICROSOFT CORPORATIONInventor: Neeraj Kumar Garg

Publication number: 20020062310Abstract: A peer-to-peer commerce system in part relies on being able to identify the geographic location of the electronic devices, e.g., computers or palm pilots. Where the computer or device is stationary, this can be indicated by inserting a zip code, address or telephone number in the computer code identifying the device. Where the device is mobile, this can be indicated manually in a similar fashion. In addition, global positioning satellite (“GSP”) devices may be incorporated with the device to give geographic location automatically. Further, if the device is a cellular telephone device, the cellular device has location information in terms of identifying the cell in which the device is broadcasting. The peer-to-peer search is passed simultaneously over various branches of a binary tree to applications controlling databases for various businesses. Each business application checks the query against the information on its database and provides it to the requesting computer when available.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 18, 2001Publication date: May 23, 2002Applicant: Smart Peer LLCInventors: Michael Marmor, James de Jager, Robert Day, Michael J. Boeglin, Neeraj Kumar
