  • Publication number: 20240178983
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a base station may configure a user equipment (UE) with a first-active bandwidth part (BWP). The first-active BWP may correspond to a subset of a channel bandwidth. Retuning one or more components (e.g., radio frequency (RF) components) to the first-active BWP at the UE may involve a relatively significant delay. To avoid missing communications while tuning to the first-active BWP, the UE may initially tune to the channel bandwidth. The UE may identify a next-available time resource for retuning to the first-active BWP, where the next-available time resource may be a portion of an off-duration of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle or a portion of a measurement gap. The UE may use the time resource to retune to the first-active BWP while the UE is configured to reduce communications with a serving base station.

  • Publication number: 20240163062
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable medium are provided for rate matching. An example method may include receiving a rate matching pattern configuration indicating at least a first control resource set (CORESET) in a first bandwidth part (BWP) and a second CORESET in a second BWP. The example method may also include receiving a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) in the first BWP. The example method may include processing the PDSCH transmission based on the rate matching pattern configuration, where the processing may include rate matching around resources of the first CORESET and first associated search space (SS) sets and the second CORESET and second associated SS sets.

  • Patent number: 11985598
Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating power savings while monitoring for paging messages and wakeup signals are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a UE includes receiving an indication of an active BWP associated with an ON duration of a DRX cycle. The example method also includes monitoring a first bandwidth for a WUS at a WUS occasion of the DRX cycle, the first bandwidth corresponding to a subset of the active BWP. The example method also includes transitioning to an awake state for the ON duration when the WUS is received at the WUS occasion.

  • Publication number: 20230180089
Abstract: Wireless communications apparatus and methods configured to facilitate efficient cell reselection by a user equipment camped on a serving cell of a 5G new radio base station in a panic mode are provided. Aspects of the present disclosure include limiting the number of beams of a neighboring cell that may be measured as part of a cell reselection evaluation process to determine whether the neighboring cell is a suitable cell on which the user equipment can camp.

  • Publication number: 20180183933
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. A first wireless communication device may transmit, to a second wireless communication device and a third wireless communication device, an indication that the first wireless communication device is in a ringing state based at least in part on a first call message associated with the second wireless communication device and a second call message received from the third wireless communication device. The second call message may be received while the first wireless communication device is in the ringing state due to the first call message. The first wireless communication device may selectively proceed based on at least one of the first call message or the second call message in response to user input that indicates whether to accept at least one of the first call message, the second call message, or both the first call message and the second call message.

  • Patent number: 9942514
Abstract: The disclosure generally relates to optimizing power consumption while one or more users are inactive during a video call. More particularly, according to various aspects, a current camera view may be captured at a first user equipment (UE) during a video call with at least a second UE. In response to the first UE determining that a user associated with the first UE is inactive on a camera at the first UE (e.g., when no faces are visible in the current camera view), the first UE may reduce uplink transmissions that are allocated to video content corresponding to the current camera view while the user associated with the first UE is inactive on the camera.
