The document has content with a format that would result in a first quantity of pages being printed. The content is grouped into one or more regions. Further, one or more transformations are applied to the content for each region such that the printer prints the document with the content in a transformed format that results in a second quantity of pages being printed without falling below a predetermined readability threshold. The second quantity of pages is less than the first quantity of pages. Further, the one or more transformations being applied to the document may result in a second quantity of ink being utilized to print the document such that the second quantity of ink being less than the first quantity of ink.

Group shaping is also performed to group the plurality of shapes into one or more groups based on shapes that have to be transformed together.
