  • Patent number: 8617651
Abstract: A surface with a low work function is formed from a starting material of diamond or diamond-like carbon. An oxygenation treatment is performed, so that the surface of the diamond or diamond-like carbon is oxygenated. Lithium is then deposited onto the oxygenated surface by means of a physical vapour deposition process. Excess lithium is then removed to form a lithium monolayer.

  • Patent number: 7641415
Abstract: An automatic locking ball coupler for a power take off includes a ball keeper connected to the power take off and having a longitudinal axis and openings in a cylindrical surface thereof. Locking balls are received in the openings and can move radially with respect to the axis of the cylindrical ball keeper. A ball collar is positioned around the cylindrical ball keeper and has a plurality of internal circumferential rings and recesses between each ring. The ball collar can slide axially with respect to the longitudinal axis of the ball keeper between a coupled position in which the locking balls are on the rings and an uncoupled position in which the locking balls are in the recesses.

  • Publication number: 20060261719
Abstract: An electron emitter including a high work function metal 18 encapsulating a metal-doped, nanocrystalline diamond particle layer 14 in contact with a planar surface of a low workfunction metal cathode 12, and a method of fabrication of the same is disclosed. The method may include formulating the conductive nanodiamond powder with a metallic solution, containing the high workfunction metal, and disposing it on the metal cathode 12 to form a composite material layer containing surface areas exhibiting low electron affinity. The resulting cold cathode structure has a low extraction field needed for efficient emission, a means to limit the emission current per unit area, and a reduced emission sensitivity to surface adsorption/desorption effects.

  • Patent number: 5432371
Abstract: A monolithically integrated circuit arrangement is arranged in a disc-shaped monocrystalline semiconductor body (100) of a first conductivity type, which semiconductor body consists of silicon and has a first and second main surface. The monolithically integrated circuit arrangement contains a vertical MOSFET power transistor (T1) which consists of a plurality of partial transistors connected in parallel and surrounded by a guard ring (4) of a second conductivity type opposite that of the semiconductor body (100). Proceeding from the first main surface (13), at least one zone (7, 8) of the conductivity type of the semiconductor body (100) but of increased impurity concentration is diffused into the guard ring (4) so as to form at least one active and/or passive peripheral circuit element (T2) which has a protective and/or regulating and/or control function.
