  • Publication number: 20240004927
Abstract: A client device may receive a plurality of search result items. Each search result item may correspond to a media content item. The client device may present a user interface, including a scrollable search result area presenting a subset of the plurality of search result items, and a focus area presenting a preview of a media content item corresponding to one of the plurality of search result items. The client device may receive one or more user gestures in the scrollable search result area and in response, may determine whether the one or more user gestures indicate a user interest in a second media content item. If so, the client device may present a preview of the second media content item corresponding to the second search result item.

  • Patent number: 11388452
Abstract: A device receives a base video that includes an area in frames of the base video reserved for being overlaid with metadata. The device determines a first set of videos to be played next for a particular user. A selection of the first set of videos is based on a second set of videos associated with the particular user. The device receives metadata for the first set of videos and populates an executable presentation template for the base video with a set of extracted metadata. The device plays the base video and synchronizes execution of the populated presentation template with the playing of the base video to overlay the reserved area of the frames with the set of metadata to create a custom interstitial transition video that informs the particular user about the videos to be played next.

  • Patent number: 10567829
Abstract: A processing device receives metadata for media content items and displays cells for the media content items in an overview area in an electronic program guide (EPG). The cells include subsets of metadata for the media content items. The processing device receives a selection a media content item and moves a cell, which includes a subset of metadata for the selected media content item, from the overview area to a focus area in the EPG. In response to determining that a scheduled duration for the selected media content item does not satisfy a condition pertaining to a maximum time interval of the focus area, the processing device adjusts a timeline of the focus area based on the scheduled duration of the selected media content, and replaces the subset of metadata in the cell in the focus area with expanded metadata for the selected media content item.
