Publication number: 20240270548Abstract: A lift device includes a base, a mast assembly including a first mast section coupled to the base and a second mast section configured to move vertically relative to the first mast section, a platform assembly pivotally coupled to the second mast section, a guardrail assembly, a pivot assembly pivotally coupling the guardrail assembly to the second mast section, and a link arm pivotally coupled between the pivot assembly and the platform assembly, wherein the link arm links pivotal movement of the platform assembly to pivotal movement of the guardrail assembly so that the platform assembly and the guardrail assembly simultaneously pivot between a working position and a folded position.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 14, 2024Publication date: August 15, 2024Applicant: Oshkosh CorporationInventors: Morton Ellis, Scott Harris, Neil Doherty

Publication number: 20240270552Abstract: A lift device includes a pivot assembly pivotally coupled between a mast assembly and a guardrail assembly and a locking plate defining an external cutout and an internal cavity. A pair of link arms link movement of a platform assembly and the the guardrail assembly so that the platform assembly and the guardrail assembly simultaneously pivot between a working position and a folded position. When pivoting from the folded position to the working position, a locking mechanism pivots toward the locking plate so that a tab of the locking mechanism is inserted through the external cutout and into the internal cavity. Rotation of a handle in a locking direction rotates the tab to a locked position where the tab is prevented from being removed from the internal cavity and, thereby, the platform assembly and the guardrail assembly are prevented from pivoting from the working position to the folded position.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 14, 2024Publication date: August 15, 2024Inventors: Morton Ellis, Scott Harris, Neil Doherty

Publication number: 20240270549Abstract: A lift device includes a base, a mast assembly including an inner mast section coupled to the base and an outer mast section, a platform assembly pivotally coupled to the outer mast section, a guardrail assembly pivotally coupled to the outer mast section, a crank assembly including a drive gear that is rotatably coupled to a pulley assembly, and a lift assist motor rotatably coupled to the drive gear. Rotation of the pulley assembly is configured to move the outer mast section relative to the inner mast section. The lift assist motor is configured to selectively apply an assisting torque on the drive gear to assist in raising the outer mast section, the platform assembly, and the guardrail assembly relative to the base.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 14, 2024Publication date: August 15, 2024Applicant: Oshkosh CorporationInventors: Morton Ellis, Scott Harris, Neil Doherty

Publication number: 20240270553Abstract: A lift device includes a guardrail assembly pivotally coupled to a mast assembly and having a guardrail and a door pivotally coupled to a free end of the guardrail by an automatic door hinge assembly. The automatic door hinge assembly includes a hinge rod rotationally fixed relative to the guardrail and including a plurality of helical protrusions, a hinge channel extending through the door and including a plurality of helical recesses, and a hinge rod spring biased between the guardrail and the door and configured to generate a biasing force on the door that biases the door toward a closed position. Each of the plurality of helical protrusions is received within a corresponding one of the plurality of helical recesses.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 14, 2024Publication date: August 15, 2024Applicant: Oshkosh CorporationInventors: Morton Ellis, Scott Harris, Neil Doherty

Publication number: 20240270547Abstract: A lift device includes an inner mast section coupled to a base and an outer mast section, a platform assembly and a guardrail pivotally coupled to the outer mast section, a pulley wheel coupled to a belt, and a locking rail including a plurality of locking slots. A tension arm assembly includes a tension arm coupled to the pulley wheel and including a cutout extending through the tension arm, a tension spring biasing an end of the tension arm, and a locking pin coupled to a locking spring. In response to the belt decoupling from the pulley wheel, the tension spring is configured to bias the tension arm so that the tension arm pivots relative to the locking pin to allow the locking spring to displace the locking pin into one of the locking slots and prevent the outer mast section from moving relative to the inner mast section.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 14, 2024Publication date: August 15, 2024Applicant: Oshkosh CorporationInventors: Morton Ellis, Scott Harris, Neil Doherty

Publication number: 20240270551Abstract: A lift device includes a base, a mast assembly coupled to the base and a platform assembly, and a guardrail assembly pivotally coupled to the mast assembly. An outrigger assembly includes a front outrigger leg and a rear outrigger leg pivotally coupled to the side of the base and pivotally movable between a deployed position and a stowed position where the front outrigger leg and the rear outrigger leg are both pivoted upwardly relative to the base. A caster assembly includes a caster linkage assembly pivotally coupled between a caster plate and the base, and a pedal pivotally coupled to the caster plate so that movement of the pedal in a caster deployment direction applies a pivotal force on the caster plate that pivots the caster plate, via the caster linkage assembly, between a retracted position and an extended position.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 14, 2024Publication date: August 15, 2024Inventors: Morton Ellis, Scott Harris, Neil Doherty
