  • Publication number: 20120246982
Abstract: A tooth and adaptor assembly is provided for a dipper bucket. The assembly can have an adaptor having a rear portion for attaching to the dipper bucket, a tooth capable of releasable attachment to the adaptor and a retainer pin for securing the tooth to the adaptor. The adaptor comprises a tapering intermediate portion that narrows to a rectangular front portion, and a wedge portion that extends perpendicularly therefrom. The adaptor further comprises at least one socket cavity for receiving a leg extension having an inwardly pointing hook disposed on the tooth. The tooth has a tip at its front end for digging and a socket at its rear end configured to receive the front and intermediate portions of the adaptor. A passageway is formed between the wedge portion and the leg hook for receiving a retainer pin to secure the tooth to the adaptor.

  • Patent number: 7726597
Abstract: An improved vertical shaft impactor rock crusher is provided. The improvement comprises an anvil having a front impact surface, a planar rear surface and a side surface extending between the front and rear surfaces. A shaft extends from the rear surface and can have a polygonal shaped cam lobe at the end of the shaft. When seated in the slot of a hanger bracket, the cam lobe keeps the anvil secured to the bracket while a side of the cam lobe rests on a seating block attached to the bracket to hold the anvil in an indexed position. When the impact surface becomes worn from use in the rock crusher, the anvil can be rotated within the bracket so that the cam lobe rests on an adjacent side thereby presenting an unworn surface to fracture feed rock in the rock crusher.

  • Patent number: 7658025
Abstract: A retainer pin assembly and tooth for an excavation tooth and adaptor assembly is provided. The retainer pin assembly can comprise at least one retainer pin section having a circular longitudinal main body with chamfered leading edges at one end for insertion into a passageway in the adaptor, and a displacement-bearing block having at least one facet disposed at the opposite end. The tooth can comprise at least one opening on a sidewall having one flat vertical bearing surface to correspond to a facet of the displacement-bearing block when a retainer pin section is inserted into the adaptor passageway. Magnets can be disposed on the chamfered ends of a pair of retainer pin sections to urge the retainer pin sections towards one another when inserted in the adaptor passageway.

The tooth has a tip at its front end for digging and a socket at its rear end configured to receive the front and intermediate portions of the adaptor. A small opening on the rear end of the tooth aligns with the cavity when the tooth is seated on the adaptor. The retainer pin is urged outward of the cavity by a biasing element to engage the small opening on the tooth so as to secure the tooth to the adaptor.
