Abstract: A method of forming a polymeric component on a body is disclosed which includes the steps of casting a fluid polymeric material onto the body whilst providing support for the body. The method has particular application to casting components on metal pipes and the like.

Abstract: A mould for casting a component onto a body comprising first and second mould parts arranged to be disposed on respective ones of the opposite sides of the body. At least one of the parts defines at least a portion of a mould cavity that is in communication with the body to allow for casting of the component on to the body. The mould has particular application to direct casting of polymeric couplings on to pipe ends.

Abstract: A water storage tank is disclosed. The tank comprises an outer shell (2) that defines an interior of the tank, at least one water catchment bag (48) located in the tank interior, at least one inlet (19) in the outer shell for passage of water into the bag (s), and at least one outlet (21) in the outer shell for passage of water from the bag(s). A base for supporting a water storage tank is also disclosed. The base defines a pallet on which either the other components of the tank in assembled form or kit form can be transported from a manufacturing location to an end-use location.

Abstract: A method of forming a polymeric component (41, 50, 51, 55) on a body (100, 200, 400) provides an open mould (501, 502) having an inner surface (503, 504). The mould is placed onto a surface (401) of the body (400 so that a closed cavity (505) is formed by the inner mould surface and the body surface. A fluid polymeric material is introduced into the closed cavity which is caused to harden to form the polymeric component as a casting on the body.

Abstract: A composite product (1, 2, 3, 4, 300) comprises a body (100, 200, 301) and a polymeric component (41, 50, 51, 55) cast onto a surface of the body. In one form, the product is for water infrastructure and the body is in the form of a hollow section and a water impermeable interface is formed between the body surface and the component.

Abstract: An underground water retention or detention system for collecting stormwater, rainwater, sewerage, effluent or other waters, and controlled release of the water is disclosed. Typically, the tanks are formed from a plastics or polymeric material such as high density polyethylene. The pipes may be polymer coated corrugated steel pipes. Tanks suitable for use in the water retention and detention systems are also described together with connection fittings for connection of pipes to the tanks. Generally, the connection fittings are adapted to provide structural support to perimeter walls of the tanks about respective openings formed in the tank for the connection of the pipes.
